I invited my mother with us and need to rent her an ECV. I do have a couple of questions:
- I reserved both a full sized (Chevy Impala type) car and also minivan but wondering which one is better to use to transport the ECV in. I would also need to fit a double stroller in the storage space, too.
- Is there one company that everyone prefers over another to rent the ECV?
- Is there anything special I should look for in an ECV? (I read the sticky about scooter verses ECV's and will stay away from scooters.)
- Is there anything else I should be aware of...I am such as newbie at this.

Any help is appreciated!

I think you misunderstood some things -

ECVs are also called scooters - they are the same thing. What you would want to steer away from would be a power wheelchair.

Post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread has a list of companies that rent ECVs and wheelchairs. Any of the ones on the list would be good choices.

You would be able to fit an ECV in either a full size car trunk or a minivan, but a double strolle will take up a lot of space. How many seats will you be using in the van?

Also, keep in mind that if you are staying at one of the WDW resorts, the buses, monorails and most boats are wheelchair and ECV accessible.

maybe you could call the car rental company and ask about fitting it all in along with how many people. we have used walker mobility with no problems, but we stayed off property. I have rented an impala and also a suburban. ecv fit in both but don't think the stroller too would fit in the car. you might have to use the back seat, which I would think your kids would be there.

Thanks everyone! I did misunderstand the post about the scooter. Thanks for clarifying it. We are staying at Bonnet Creek. We have 5 of us total so it seems doable that we could stick the double stroller between the seats and the ECV in the back of the minivan.
Also, I appreciate all the suggestions!
