Who do you rent scooters from? Unfortunately I am suffering from mobility issues (temporary) and was thinking about renter a scooter. I want a company that drops and picks up at the local hotels. (well, specifically the DL hotel for this trip.)
thanx

Deckert's is the best! I've used them 10+ times! 714-542-5607

Stay very far away from Apple Scooters, they are the worst, used them once and that was it, never again!

Yes, use deckerts. They keep them at the bell desk there. Unexpectedly needed one on our last trip and it was ready for me to pick up as soon as I hung up the phone! $40 a day and they gave me my partial day free.

I was looking for them on line. Do they not have a website, or do you know?

I'm pretty sure that I used them years ago for my grandmother, and I remember being pleased.
thanx

No, Deckert's doesn't have a website. Just give them a call, they are great!!

Another vote for Deckert's we have used them many times and have always been satisfied. If you used them before they offer return customer discounts!!!

Everyone here seems to like deckerts, but I have visited with someone who needed a scooter and apple was fine both times. No battery issues, good condition... Maybe we were just lucky.
And as you probably know they rent them outside the park gates for ~$60 per day, but 3rd party is usually cheaper if you need it multiple days or don't want/can't walk all the way to the park gates without it, and you can't take those outside security checkpoint.

Nice folks at Apple--terrible scooters. Old batteries only held a charge for a few hours. Spent the entire time either waiting for them to change out the scooter or trying to find an outlet. Another no for Apple!

THIS!!!! I had to continually find a place to charge the stupid thing in the parks, which was not easy. It was a nightmare! I've never ever had to charge a scooter from Deckert's except overnight. I tried Apple as it was a little cheaper, but you get what you pay for. Never again!

Yet another resounding NO vote for Apple Scooters! The scooters were awful.

I use ScootAround. They are great!
Deckert's is great also.

We used Deckerts. Never arranged ahead of time, just arranged with the concierge at the hotel when we arrived at GCH last couple trips. Probably good idea to arrange ahead of time though! Never had issues, have used for 2 trips.

The ECV was a godsend for our family member with mobility issues. I'm glad your situation is temporary but rest assured you are making a good call in getting an ECV to help you with this trip.

Staying at the Tropicana coming up May 7-14. Wondering why is apple so bad, i've heard others say they were happy with them? Deckerts seems to be much more expensive! I think I called Deckerts the other week and just remember thinking yikes, that's way more than i was expecting! Can't remember the exact quote right now. I called apple and it was about $140 total for 7 nights, which I'm holding right now, but thinking about it again, but that's so much more reasonable and in line with what I usually pay in WDW. I saw someone say somewhere Deckerts was like $40 per day, that's $280 for my trip of Sat to Sat, double the price of Apple, so is that right? Or what do I have wrong here?

Anyone a WDW vet who's used Walkers for ecv's there? That's who I use, they are great and I paid about $230 in Dec for an 11 day trip.

Apple seems to use old, very beat up equipment. We rented two scooters from them. My mom's died mid morning the first day. My daughter (8 at the time) had to push her the entire way out of the park and into the esplanade so we could wait more than an hour for them to show up with a replacement scooter for her. Later that day my scooter started to lose battery rapidly. I had to sit, tethered to an outlet charging the thing, while my mom and daughter went to enjoy some rides. We decided to head back early and had to charge again at the entrance to the parks. We push/pull/towed the way back to the hotel. I had been told by Apple that the battery only goes so far and to charge when needed. It made for a miserable trip and will NEVER use them again.

Well, hmm, not sure what to do here, lol. I really like the price with Apple. In Orlando, it's fairly popular, though don't know if they are related, but probably are, but could be run differently. Anyway, I called around today to price things again. I need the scooter from when we get there, about noon May 7th, and when we leave about noon or shortly before on May 14th. When I told Deckert's I was staying at Tropicana, they said they don't deliver to Tropicana because Tropicana has their own rental place for scooters, so if that's where I'm at, I can't use Deckert. I think she said the price was $40 a day, so I said $280 dollars, and she said for a week would be $175. A little confusing, but the price wouldn't be so bad. But, staying at Tropicana I can't rent from them. That sure seems really odd to me, have others experienced this as well? Not sure why I couldn't meet them outside or something. She said there were about 4 hotels like this. For ans many people who recommend Deckert's seems that's a lot of people who can't rent from them. Sort of frustrating, lol!
I called Tropicana, they said they don't have their own scooter rental but they do have one they refer people to which is One Stop Mobility. For 8 days, from may 7-14, they charge $205 + tax so about $222. They also said if I rent from somewhere else they just have to meet me there, not drop at bell services.

I also called Scootaround and they said it was, I think, $235 for 8 days, $215 for 7, if it was picked up early the 14th. Don't know if that included tax or not.

Scootaround uses One Stop Mobility as their local vendor. If they gave you a better price, I'd go with One Stop.

Oh, that's interesting! Well, I'm going to call them both back and write it all down this time, lol! I should remember to ask about a AAA discount, just in case, too. I think I'm going to also post a thread to get more info on using Deckert's while staying at the Tropicana. That's pretty strange to me and I'm surprised in how often I've seen them recommended that no one has mentioned that. Other places just say I have to meet them there which would be fine. Thanks for sharing your info!

Eta: Also, at One Stop, they were a bit cheaper than Scootaround, but were adding $5 per day for insurance, which is optional, but they make it sounds like you should really get it. That just adds another $40, bringing the 8 days to about $260. The other places did not mention this at all.
