Does anyone have any suggestions for good ECV rental companies while at WDW? Obviously looking for good service {drop-off & pick-up at the resort} plus affordable. The one we're using right now drops off & picks up, and we're looking at $170 for 5 days {Sat night drop-off & Friday morning pick-up}. And oh yeah, we need a basket on the ECV for our goodies, haha. :thumbsup2

Might want to pop over to the disABILITIES section of the dis. I am sure they could help you there! I have never thought to ask that question as my Mom's future trips will require an ECV!

We are renting a scooter from Walker Mobility for my mom. They will deliver to our rental house and pick it up for free. For 7 days it is $200, plus $20 ins. and $20 for a canopy (which are optional). When we told them we would need it early Monday morning they said they would deliver Sunday evening but not start charging until Monday, so we can leave bright and early! They will pick it up the following Monday morning, but said we can rent it for 1/2 day if we need to since our flight isn't until the evening. Their customer service so far has been excellent, and they get good reviews over on the DISabilities board. BTW, I got quotes of as much as $340for the same time period, and some places wanted to charge $50 for delivery.

I would suggest going over to the disABILITIES Forum. One of the first threads is the disABILITIES FAQs. On Post #2 we have a lot of information concerning mobility and equipment rentals, with suggested vendors. To get directly to the disABILITIES FAQs from here just click on the link in my signature.

Thanks, I'll be sure to check that out.

I'm going to move this over to the disABILITIES forum so some more input.

All of the companies listed in post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread are good.
We listed the ones the DIS posters posted good experiences most often over the years - Walker, Randy's Mobility and Care are most frequently mentioned. There are also some others that we don't have as much feedback also listed, but that is mentioned in the listing. All of the companies will pick up and deliver to your Orlando area resort.

If a company is not listed, that doesn't necessarily mean anything bad - it just means we do not have enough feedback that we felt comfortable listing it.

There are a few companies which are listed in the FAQ section that have outstanding customer service and will provide the same or even lower pricing. I suggest that you get quotes from all of them before making a decision.

Be advised, the medical equipment rental companies charge either by the 24-hour day (e.g. Randy's Mobility) in which case you're renting for six days; or by the calendar day (e.g. Scooterama) meaning your rental period is seven days; or with some flexibility (e.g. Walker).

Randy's delivers the ECV to the renter in person, so the rental period starts from then; many other companies drop off the equipment at your resort by 9 AM, even if you don't arrive until 9 PM.

We highly recommend Walker's. We've always received excellent service and have never had a problem with them. I believe they are running a special right now of $25.00/day if you call them. They also give discounts for 1/2 days. I already have an ECV reserved for my mom for our Dec 12th-20th trip. With the $20.00 optional insurance, we are paying $237.50 for the nine days.

I would also say walker I used them since 2002 they are great if you have any problems with your ecv they will replace it right away. I love walker they have always been good to me with my handicap needs.

Can you tell me where I can find info on this $25/day special? I didn't see anything on the site. Thanks.

Someone here on the DIS posted about it, but said you needed to call to get it. I had already reserved my mom's ECV, but when I called, they applied the discount to my order and sent me another confirmation.

I just called Walker and they said the listed rates are already discounted (compared to Disney's rate).
Maybe the sale is just on the small model?
I requested the heavier duty one and the rate is $39 per day. BUT with a weekly rental the rate is $35 a day.
So, maybe the discount is more based on renting at least a week?
They also have a special going for getting the sun shade and damage insurance. Normally each are $20. If you get both, it is a one time charge of $30 total.
They also have a $5 one time service charge . The very helpful receptionist started to say fuel surcharge but corrected herself to say service charge.
She also did say that they do half day rentals for exactly half the day's price. That is also a nice money save right there.
They also have no deposit charge or delivery fee.
I think I am going to do a 2 1/2 day rental for our days we are going to the parks and then she said I can just call to extend it if needed.
If her helpfulness is any indication of their overall service, I certainly feel more comfortable now after talking to her about renting from them.

I loved Walker when I rented from them last October. My ECV was waiting for me when I arrived at my resort and I was able to leave it with bell services when I checked out. Also, I didn't have any issues withthe ECV.
