ECV rental period question

Now that I have finally booked our accomodations for our trip, I am in the process of looking at my ECV rental. I haven't decided yet where I want to rent so I am hoping someone can help me with the questions I have run it.

We're arriving late on a April 23rd and will be staying at Universal for a few days first (Holiday Inn across the street). April 28th to May 3rd we'll be going to Sarasota to meet a friend and enjoy the beach so I won't need the scooter. May 4th to May 15th we'll be at Disney and staying at the BW at DTD.

So right now I am not sure what would be the best (and cheapest) option for us. Get a portable scooter on April 24th and return it on the 15th and make that one long rental and take it to Sarasota where I really won't need it. Or make it a split rental from April 24th to April 28th while we stay at the Holiday Inn and then again May 4th to May 15th while we're at the BW and get a non-portable scooter. I will need one with a fairly long range because we will be at either parks from opening to close without a break. Therefore I also want the scooter to be comfortable.

I am also not sure how the rental companies calculate their days. Is it like a car rental that when you pick up at 8pm and return at 8pm next day it's one day or like it used to be with movie rentals where it would be two days because pickup and drop off are on two different days.

I always rent from Apple Scooter. Go on their website and they have the rate chart right there. They are very easy to deal with and I have never had a problem. I think it is per day not specific times.

Thanks for the info. Apple actually was the only company that I found that listed their prices. All others wanted you to call if you rented for a longer period of time. So if I get a scooter late in the afternoon it would count as a full day. I guess then i should have it delivered in the morning to avoid the extra day charge, right?

Since you have rented with Apple, which of their models can you recommend? I'd like lightweight and small so the Go Go looks nice but I'm not sure the battery will hold for a full day.
