ECV recharger fan

Is every one so noisy? And if so, what can you do to deaden the noise? Can you wrap the recharger in something? I called Walker and asked if it was normal for the fan to make noise and she said it was. So what tips might people have? Right now the recharger sits in the basket, but I'm wondering if wrapping it up would be better or worse. Ideas?

Wrapping is a Very Bad Idea- the fan is blowing to dissipate heat- wrapping it insulates it and can cause overheating and a potential fire.

I'm trying to remember, but I thought I put it on the floor, maybe? I also parked it right by the door. That way it wasn't terribly close to the bed.
