Hi!

I rented from Walker last time and I liked the Heavy Duty but it was kinda expensive and I did have to wait for the guy. I have heard bad things about Apple's scooters and Buena Vista hasn't emailed me back yet and I am huge internet girl.

How do we feel about Scooterbug?

They have the ones like the park rents. Are those nice?

Thanks!

I have no experience with Scooterbug.

If the scooter you are interested in really matches the Disney Park scooter I will tell you those are very large, heavy scooters. The battery should last all day. They don't come apart as a travel, portable scooter.

I'm not totally sure the Disney type scooter meet all the requirements for Disney transportion if you are using Disney transportation to get back and forth from the parks. Disney scooters are meant for the parks only. They are not easily transferable. Again, I will stress these are very large scooters. I would not want to try and get one in and out of a car, SUV, or van, either. The Disney park scooters do not come apart.

Now, if this scooter is the Pride Victory Model which is usually the heavy model most get for a rental then you have two batteries that should last all day and that scooter will meet the Disney transportation standards and that scooter does come apart as a travel scooter. This is still heavier than the lightweight models, but you can manage this one in and out of a car with some help.

The other thing about the huge 4-wheel scooters is that they're not very manoeuvrable and you could have problems in queues with tight turns. I have hired a Victory Pride the last two trips, and they are great all-day scooters. Mind you, I am over 150lb lighter than the maximu weight for them - I get them for the battery life and the comfortable seat. The only problem with the really small scooters is that the seats are hard and narrow and I wouldn't want to be sitting in one all day.

I now hire from Florida Mobility Rentals, and they are very nice people, very helpful, their equipment is well-maintained and - best of all - very cheap.

I use Buenavista but always phone them - have never used email to book. They have gotten me the right ECV for my size and needs. Last year when one had an electrics problems they were very quick and responsive with replacement. Agree that if a 3 wheeler is an option in the size you want, you will be very glad of the increased maneuverability.

Here's another recommendation for Buena Vista. This experience mirrors ours from last May. A phone call set everything up and they followed through exactly as they said they would. The employees we dealt with over the phone were very customer oriented so try giving them a call.

although the Scooterbug ECVs are large, they do fit on Disney transportation. They do fit into the 30 inches wide x 48 inches long 'box' that is kind of the measure for transportation.
Scooterbug actually supplies the park rental ECVs.

That said, they are very large and don't come apart for transport, so many people are happier with a smaller, more maneuverable model.
