I am trying to decide weather or not to rent a ecv to my hotel room. I am currently pregnant with twins. 11 weeks along so far. I look like I am 5 months already sigh. 5 months was the point when pregnant with my son that I needed an ECV to keep from overheating. I have raynauds which is a wierd vascular condition. Normally I tell everyone if you think you might need it get it. Yet I am not sure right now for me. I am traveling solo at this point so I need to take that into consideration too I guess.

My trip is in the first week of September. I am doing a real disney trip instead of my typical science fiction con for obvious reasons this year

There would be nothing wrong with renting an ECV if you feel it is necessary. If you are not sure, what you can do is bring the phone numbers of some of the vendors with you. If you find you don't need one, well and good. If you do need one with a phone call you should be able to get one that same day or by the next morning.

The important thing is you know your own body. And don't worry about what anyone says about you or how they may look at you.

I would recommend first talking to your doctor about the advisability of taking a trip to WDW when you are pregnant with twins.
If he/she says it's a 'go', I would rent an ECV. Being pregnant with twins is much more strain on your body than being pregnant with a single baby.
And, September can be very hot!
You can always choose to park the ECV for a while and walk around. But, if it's you alone, you will be out of luck if you are in the back of a park and decide you need one (no one to send to the front to get one while you rest). You will also be out of luck if you get to the park and find there are none left to rent - propelling yourself in a park wheelchair can be difficult and exhausting!

I would also be cautious about the lifting and disassembling of the ecv to get it in and out of your POV. Will you be using/can you use Disney buses and transport for the trip? The heaviest part IMHO is the back section with the wheels.

i also have reynauds, and i discovered that vibrations trigger problems with my reynauds. no matter how smooth the ground, ECVs/WCs tend to vibrate. i dont know what the solution would be if this is the case for you, but this is one of the reasons i don't use ECVs.

i second what Sue said and i would approach your dr with this!

I plan to use the bus system for the most part during my trip. MY OB is ok with this because I am doing it slow and easy. I am local really. I just wanted the whole experience of staying on property. So like I was gonna spend hotter times of the day in my room resting. I was thinking of even just doing one whole day at the spa and the pool. That is if the spa can tailor to pregnancy needs. I am not doing the gang buster vacation most do.

I do not stay in the ecv running too long at once so I have not had too many problems with the vibrations but I do admit I have caught myself rubbing my hands from the raynauds before while on the ecv. Of course nothing is as bad as the time as my ex convinced me to try to mow the lawn without the special gel gloves. I was so sick I told him if he could not do it himself he had best pay the teenagers.
