I just got back from a trip to Disneyland and we used Deckert's and I have to tell you that it was by far the best choice out there. The other places I called said there was a 3 day minimum for the ECV and a one week minimum for a wheelchair. We needed both and Deckert's has no minimums, combined two half days for us since we came in late on Thursday and left early Saturday, and they dropped off and picked up for free to our hotel. The chairs were both in great shape and the charge lasted all day on the ecv.

Do not let the fact that they do not have a website steer you away from this place. We spent a total of $120.00 for a heavy duty ecv and a fabulous standard wheelchair from Thursday afternoon until Saturday around noon. Best prices by far and great service. You will be happy you called them at 714-542-5607.

Thanks for the recommendation.:thumbsup2
Several other people have recommended the same company; the number is listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board (I think post #14 or 15 is about Disneyland).

We also used Deckert's last year to rent an ECV for my dad. Their service was top-notch. The ECV was delivered when promised. It was clean and in excellent working condition. The power cord and user's manual were included. When we were ready for them to pick it up, they came promptly and picked it up from the hotel lobby. Our $50 deposit was refunded immediately and the correct amount was charged on our credit card. Overall, renting from Deckert's was an excellent experience.

Hi there...

I am new to this board and just started doing some research on ECV's for Disneyland. My mom fractured her ankle on both sides, and had to have surgery. We're pretty sure she will be walking without her boot by then, but was thinking of renting an ECV due to all the walking she would be doing.

I had planned to post and ask if anyone knew how often they might run out of ECV's at Disneyland. We will be going to DL on probably 2 of the busiest days of the year (Dec. 22 and 23) and this is a concern for me.

I never thought to rent one off-site, and I was hoping I could ask a couple of questions?

-Do they drop off/pick up the ECV?
-What is the cost per day? Is there a minimum?
-Is renting off-site more convenient, or a big hassle?

We will be staying at Desert Inn & Suites, and I don't anticipate having to load it into a car or bus at all.

Any insight you could give would be fantastic - I am the primary trip-planner and information gatherer for all things Disney in the family, and I need to come through! TIA!

Deckertts had no minimums and dropped off and picked up from the Destert Inn and Suites where we stayed for free. The scooter itself was WAY nicer than the scooters being rented at the park. I paid 40.00 a day for a super heavy duty scooter for a person weighing almost 400 pounds and it was fast and comfortable for them for the two days we had it. Make sure to call them as they do not have a website.

When I went to DL this past July I used Deckert's and was very pleased with them. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Garden Grove (just South of Anaheim). The ECV was there when I arrived Tuesday evening and they picked it up after I left Sunday afternoon; it cost $162.

On a previous trip I used another company which I think is now (deservedly) out of business. The big thing about off-site rentals at DL (much more so than WDW) is they will very often run out of ECVs at DL; if you have an off-site you have it all the time.

Thank you for your replies! This is great information! I called Deckert's today and made my arrangements.

One thing I forgot to ask - when going on rides, how safe is it to leave it outside? Should I DISign some sort of nametag/ID to attach to it while we're renting it? I've heard of stollers being stolen/moved/mistakenly taken, but not sure about this.

Thank you again for the help!

The ECV will have a key that is required to turn it on. You can park it outside of rides or restaurants. Just be sure to take the key with you.

Thank you everyone - this has been a tremendous help. I spoke with my mom today and she was SO relieved I could reserve a scooter instead of taking a chance that DL would be out!!!

The DIS rocks!!!:thanks: :disrocks:
