ECV into SUV

The ECV that I have breaks down into 3 pieces (the seat comes off and the base is probably about 24in high). I was thinking about renting a mid-size SUV. Has anybody else managed to stuff an ECV into a Ford Escape?

I don't have any personal experience with ecvs or SUVs, so I can't exactly help you. But, before we got a wheelchair van, one of our vehicles was a 4Runner (small SUV), the other was a Chrysler minivan. Lifting the wheelchair into the 4Runner was not the easiest thing since it was higher off the ground.
So, you may want to look not only on whether the ecv will fit into the SUV, but how high you will have to lift it to get it in there. All the lifting things in and out can get get pretty tiring, especially if it's a high lift.
