the Pride to Go which is your best bet will go over 100 pounds total. The base of the unit is awkward; it's one large piece that measures 40 X 20 dissasembled. The battery pack will weigh over 30 pounds by itself. It's five pieces when broken down. You can just take the battery pack only and charge it every night in your room. If you do this get a small dolly that's portable to help with this.
We manage, but there's two of us for leverage to get it in and out of the car. Once in a while my hubby would do it all on his own. If you're younger and/or strong it's manageable by one.
The best advice is to go to a medical mobility store locally where this model is handled (it's a popular kind). They will do a demo for you. You can see how it comes apart and fits into the car. They will let you do it on your own, too. You'll be able to drive it a lttle, as well. Also, your mom can see how it is if you bring her with. It's a smaller scooter; so, this way you can see if she's comfortable in it. There are demos on u tube which will show you how this scooter breaks down, too.
We have used Apple Scooters in the past and no complaints on this end. Recently, they had a price increase. They are still quite competitive. The best price out there for the same scooter appears to be AllStar Scooters right now which is an off shoot company from Randy's Mobility.
Enjoy your trip.
