My Dad will be on a ECV for the first time this year, and I was wondering if they allow the ECV in the viewing areas for the FP+ MSEP and Wishes??? I read through SueM stickies and I didn't find it. Lots of great info.

My dad has Afib and it caused some cardiac damage. He has a hard time walking and standing for a long time. He is really apprehensive about getting the ECV, but I talked him into it so he wouldn't miss so much. Last time we went, he spent most of his time at the resort or he would go to the park for dinner and leave. I want him to be able to enjoy his time with his grandson there.

Any tips or advice would help. They are renting from Best Price Mobility. Also we are going during Thanksgiving, and he is worried about the bus rides, people getting mad at him for taking up space, etc. Can a cab take the ECV, if he wants to go that route back to the resort?
Thanks in advance,
Tina

FP+ for MSEP and Wishes is fairly new, but I don't see why an ECV wouldn't be allowed. I have read those spaces can be quite crowded.

Depending on the model of ECV, it can be broken down to put into a car trunk. Whether or not the one you have reserved will do that is the first question - contact the vendor to see. Then if he does call for a taxi, he probably should mention he'll need trunk space for an ECV, but the cab driver may not know how to break it down so dad may have to do that (or someone else in your party).

Enjoy your vacation!

ECV's and power wheelchairs are allowed in the Fastpass+ areas for the parades and Wishes. I love it. It is WONDERFUL!

We were just there last week and I took my ECV into the FP+ area for MSEP. The area was relatively empty and I was able to ride up behind a group of people who were seated on the ground and they remained seated throughout the parade so I had an awesome view of the parade.

Thank you all! This is good to know. I didn't want to waste a FP+ if he couldn't use it with us. I really want him to be happy and have fun. I don't want him to feel like he is holding us back from doing anything, and I am glad he decided to break down and get the ECV. I think we all will be able to enjoy the trip more. We won't have to worry we are pushing him too much, and he won't have to feel like he is slowing us down. It is great that WDW can accommodate everyone needs. Or at least they try. I still have to see what kind of ECV he has to see about the cabs. Thanks again.
