Help! We are planning out first trip to Disney and we(me, DH, DD13, DS10, DD7) are planning on bringing our beloved dog with us. I need to use an ECV to get around in the parks and any other great distance.
My question is: Is this realistic? We will be in one of the pet loops,so we will need to catch the bus to the marina, Is it a far walk to the bus stops? Will my kids be exhausted before we get to the park? Has anyone else camped with an ECV? How do you store it at night? It won't fit in the trailer.

Also will it be hard for me to do the campfire with my children? How about Trails Ends?

I'm really nervous about this so any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

By the way we are going in early Dec 05.

Thanks!
Kimba

Hi!

You will love FW in Dec. It is really beautiful!
Have you already booked your site? You may want to book a preferred pet loop. I think the 300 would be great as you can walk to the marina.
There are bus stops all over FW. Your children should not have a problem with the walking.
The campfire should not be a problem either, there is ground level seating and and your ECV will easily fit beside a bench.

I don;t think you will have any problem at all. I have seen lots of folks using ECVs in all loops. If I am correct, all busses are now equipped with lifts so that should not be a problem.

The walk to a bus stop from any loop is not that bad, so no the kids should be fine.

Sidewalks lead right up to the campfire area, so that should not be a problem.

Additionally, I use my own car to go to all parks other than MK, so if you are towing a trailer that may be an option.

The boats between FW and MK are ECV friendly, so try it at least once.

Good luck

I bring our personal ECV with me when I go to Ft. Wilderness and tent camp.

I don't use the ECV in the parks, but use it like a golf cart to get around Ft Wilderness.

I just park it under my awning and I have a gas grill cover that I put over it to also help keep it dry. When I go to the parks I just leave it parked plugged in at the golf cart parking areas with my grill cover over it.

As far as the internal busses, if I were you I would just drive the ECV from your campsite to the Settlement Area or the Outpost area instead of having to get on and off two buses to go anywhere.

Your family can hop on the bus very quickly and meet you at either transportation depot.

It will be very easy for you to go to the campfire program with your ECV.

Another option you might want to consider is to bring bikes for the rest of your family. They can ride the bikes around Ft. Wilderness and you can drive your ECV. That way you avoid the internal busses altogether.

Hope this helps.

Carol
