Ecv delivery to DLH? Touring with an ECV?

Of course, now with two days left I'm pretty sure I broke my foot going down the monorail slide. I could make it, though really slowly, to Disneyland for an ecv, but remember people mentioning rentals that get delivered to the hotel? What company? Any chance I can get one with half a day notice?

I have been very happy with Deckert 714-542-5607. I can't remember their rates but it definately is cheaper than renting from the park. They will deliver to the hotel.

Call Deckerts. 714-542-5607. They will deliver to your hotel and pick up when you are done. They are great!!!

DLH actually has a stash of them from Deckerts. We had problems with our Apple scooter. Then had the front desk call Deckerts, all we had to do was give the Bell Captain a confirmation number and they brought one out for us.

DIS is the best! Yes they are available to pick up from the bell desk!

Now, is it worth it or more hassle? I'm thinking I may not have an option. I'm just too slow and it still hurts pretty bad.

I don't want to ruin the rest of the trip for the kids by being super slow walking. I can walk short distances but not far. And can't be on it for long. How will this effect our rides? Like say, Peter pans queue? I don't fit in the line. And can't be on it for 45 mins. Can't do the stairs at toy story/small world.

How do you do DL in a wheelchair?!

DH has had to use an ECV given hip injuries (he's going for his 3rd surgery soon). He never had to stand in line, as they either let him wait in line in his ECV (only at DCA, where they have wider lines) or had him stay in his ECV near the exit and then go on the ride. He can walk 10-15 steps and get into/out of the cars himself, though.

He doesn't do the Fantasyland rides except for Dumbo, which had a special line near the exit for those in an ECV and then you go in through the exit. As long as you can walk a few steps and climb in/out yourself, I assume you can do all the rides.

FYI, DCA is much friendlier to those in ECVs, as the lines are all wide enough for you to stay in your ECV until the very end when you get into the car. They sometimes have special cars for those in ECVs/wheelchairs. For Toy Story, they just had DH go in the line in his ECV and then go to an area farther back (closer to where you first come out of the ride attraction) and get onto special cars. CMs are very helpful so you just have to ask them what to do, but we never had to use a special entrance or stand at the exit line in DCA.

At DL, like for Star Tours, we had to transfer him to a wheelchair that I pushed to a side entrance, up an elevator, and to the entrance of the actual seating area. DH didn't ride Space Mountain, but I saw a line of wheelchair/ECV folks by the exit where the TV monitors are.

Hope you can still have fun the remainder of your trip and aren't in too much pain.

Luckily there isn't much pain unless I walk too far or wiggle it around too much. I've managed to hobble around the hotel rooms and take a shower. Standing waiting 30 mins at rainforest was not smart but DH was sure they'd be calling us any minute so stood there. Not to great on the other leg!

I'll be able to transfer, and a few steps would be ok. On to a new adventure! I feel so stupid in one! But it is kinda fun to drive!

My DIL had a foot injury the first day of a four day trip. The next morning she realized she wasn't going to be able to walk. I called Apple Scooter and they delivered one in less than two hours.

As I get older I find by the fourth or fifth day my endurance is lacking. I plan to get one the tail end of our next trip. I figure it will help me keep up with the grandkids.

We've used Apple scooter three trips now and have never had a problem.

If you call the front desk, they can get you a coach wrap so that you can restrict the movement. They can't wrap it for you, but you can get the wrap. You can also purchase the coach wrap at the photo shop (behind the counter).

My daughter sprained her ankle on our last trip. First aid gave us ice and a stretchy tube to help hold it in place. You can get some during the day if it starts to swell.

Enjoy your trip and no need to feel stupid
