I will be coming to WDW in May and require an ECV. I can handle the ones in the grocery store because im not in them that long, but ive found when riding in one for a while i get really bad back and leg pain. I was thinking of getting a pressure relieving cushion to put in the ECV and wanted to get the opinions of others who might have had to do this as well.certain cushion recommendations? Was there an issue with theft if you had to park your ECV outside a ride ? Thank you !

I second comment above. I've rented a captain's chair scooter from Gold Mobility. They sell their scooters after six months of use, so they are extremely comfortable! (Grandkids call it "Grammie's Cadillac")

Yep 👍 captains chair and Gold 🙂

As far as theft... no worries. Just don’t leave expensive packages unattended. And it’s also a good idea to put a ribbon or something on yours to easily find it in a sea of other scooters and strollers.

It’s a huuuuge hassle to steal without immense risk. Just not common, in fact I’ve never heard of it happening from inside the parks.

We used to leave folded blankets on our scooters. We probably were taking a risk but I figured if someone stole them, they must need them more than we did. We never lost a blanket.

Thanks everyone for your reply. i usually rent the ones with the captains seats from Gold mobility but still have the pain and numbness..very like from the condition of my spine and the nerve damage. I was just thinking a wheelchair/ecv pad might alleviate some pressure. as for the question of theft, i think i might have worded that wrong, i was thinking of theft of the cushion and not the ecv itself :)

Ahh ok 😁 DH forgot his cushion last trip. On all the other trips he’s never lost it or had it stolen. It definitely helps him with his lower back and leg issues. He missed having it.

I would try using a bed pillow (ask for an extra one) for the scooter. It might be more "for able". Just a thought!

I use a donut cushion in my chair at home and at work. For long periods of sitting, I add a lumbar support pillow. I don't like the memory foam stuff - it doesn't support enough after a while. I like latex foam the best!

If the rental ECV has a seat back that folds down, just leave the cushion in place, and fold the seat back over it. Not only will it help "hide" the cushion, but it will help keep it cool (from direct sunlight) and dry (in case of those little pop up afternoon showers).
