ECV charging at Saratoga Springs

My parents and I will be at WDW in mid-May and are staying in a studio unit at Saratoga Springs. Mom is renting an ECV from BVS, and it's our first time with a scooter from an off-site company. It occurs to me that we don't have the slightest clue about charging one of these things at the hotel.

I'm sure someone here knows: Is there enough room in a studio to park and charge the ECV when the sofa bed is pulled out?

Forget the living area. As far as I remember, you can park/charge it inside the studio near the door.

When we were at Saratoga Springs last year, there was an electrical outlet right outside our door. The Bellman pointed it out to me when we checked in and told me to use it. I used that to charge the ECV and never really had to take it into the room.

Please take it inside your room and keep pathways clear for others.

Thank you!

There is not always room to put an Ecv inside!
A 2 bed or 1bed maybe but what about other resorts where it's just a room? Not a chance could we have gotten a Ecv in our room at Akl.

WDW does recommend that ECVs be brought into your room for the night. DISers report being able to get an ECV into a value resort room, which are the smallest on property. It may take some rearranging of furniture and, if needed, housekeeping will assist with removing furniture.

Reasons for taking it into the room include:
1) not to block hallways/walkways; there may not be space for another ECV or wheelchair to get around one parked outside a room
2) YOU are responsible for that equipment, whether personally owned or rented; if left outside the room overnight you do not have control over what may happen to it for several hours -- be that just someone messing around or actually taking it and you find it gone in the morning
3) resort staff may consider it abandoned and remove it

Again, please speak with resort staff if you have difficulty getting an ECV into your room for the night.

Enjoy your vacation!

1) Yes, our "pat" answer to the question.
2) But, sometimes the room just gets too small.
3) MANY, MANY, MANY people put them in the hallway.
4) They run the cord under the door to a plug inside the room.
5) If parked along the wall, there is no blocking of the hotel passageway.

NOTE: It was mandatory that I "run the floors" every night at SSR and
there were lots of scooters parked in the hallways. No problems.

I'm surprised! We managed to get two ECVs in our room at AKL with no problems. There were just the two of us staying there, though.

That's fab for 2 however we had 2 adults and 2 kids and 5 cases! Plus hand luggage cases it blocked the door way. We was told to have it outside the room, which effected no one as we was the last room by the fire exit stairs on the arusha savvanah.

I should imagine if you have 2 people then fine, but no way could we get a family of 4 plus luggage a cot and an Ecv,not all Ecv uses are older without kids, and kids and Ecv in rooms just don't work well.

We were in the very end unit and where I parked my ECV was right next to the housekeeping cart. Didn't block anything.

Are you in an accessible studio? We have an accessible studio and we have enough room in the room for my scooter. But there is only 2 of us. If there isn't enough room you could always remove the battery and bring that in to charge ( reducing the chance somebody will steal it without a battery ) .
