ECV at the Fort?

Our first FW trip is this October - me, DH, DD(4) and FIL. Now it seems that FIL is "having a lot of trouble getting around." Translated: walking is slow and limited.

My original plan was to rent a golf cart for the Fort. Then I thought we could just pick up an ECV at the parks if FIL needs one (our plans are to hit the parks early). Now I'm thinking that maybe an outside-vendor ECV for the whole stay is a better idea, given all the "non-park" walking to & from the boat dock/monorail/bus stop.

Are the internal Fort busses ECV-friendly? Can a scooter "roll-on" to the boats like you can with a stroller? Does anyone have experience with a scooter at the Fort?

Thanks!

Well I do not have any direct experience with scooters I have seen them at The Fort before plenty of times. The buses are scooter/wheelchair friendly as are the larger boats.

i used an ECV at the Fort 2 years ago. the buses are ECV friendly but usually take longer than golf carts to get around. larger boats atr friendly but somewhat hard to get to or out of parking area. hardest thing of trip was Hoop Dee Doo as you have to go in to Trails End to get to door that lets you in to the show area as every door has steps.

We have traveled with an ECV and had no problems at the fort. We asked to be near the marina so we did not have to use the internal bus or golf cart to get to the MK by boat. It was very easy to load the ECV on the boat. I think at times they may alternate the smaller boats with the larger boat but if so it is only a short wait for the larger boat. We sometimes went to the MK and utilized the monorail (with one transfer) to get to Epcot.

While the internal buses are wheelchair friendly, we had the golf cart and a smaller ECV which was easily loaded on the back of the golf cart so we never used the internal bus with the ECV. (The ECV we have is easily broken down and I can lift it alone especially earlier in the day.) Edited to add: No, I am not the one using the ECV.

Sometimes when we arrived back at the Fort and didn't feel like loading the ECV on the golf cart, we would send the ECV rider back on the golf cart and someone else would ride the ECV back to the campsite as it took quite a bit longer on the ECV than the golf cart.
