ECV and transportation question

We are headed to DW in two weeks. I have arthritis in both knees and have rented ECVs from DW on past trips. I am looking for advice on park transportation if I rent outside DW.

We are staying at Saratoga. If i rent outside the parks, would it be quicker/easier to take our vehicle to TTC and ride the monorail to MK and Epcot? I am mobile enough to walk for a while, but I have to take a much slower pace than the rest of our party.

I think that it will be faster if you take the buss to MK as long as there are not more them 1 WC user infant of you. for EPCOT I would drive. the big difference with time is the bus drops you right off at the main gate at the MK when when you drive you have to take the monorail or boat over.

The pp is right for mk the bus is quicker it cut out needing to use monorail or ferry as it drops you off right in front. If their other first on board th driver will call for another bus so you don't have to wait long.

Now Epcot I say the bus might also be easier unless you have a handicap tag as the bus stop might be closer then parking. Even with being allowed to park on medical parking but for Epcot it is most likely better to drive mk the only park that the bus is the best and quickest way. Again this is just my opinion about Epcot not saying you have to take the bus it might not be closer then parking. Plus your in Disney you should let the friendly bus drivers drive you no need to drive while on vacation .

I should also say that I drive to Disney and I park my car and take Disney bus and I have not hade much problems with it. So my vote is buss

The last time by Walt Disney World, I have to use my Mobility Scooter due to severe arthritis and RSD. When we went to get on the bus, they would always put me with my scooter on 1st because it was very difficult to maneuver a scooter and have it strapped down when there were other people on the bus. They also allow my husband and my two daughters to go with me so that we could be together! It was always important the family stick together because with my medical condition if I am on one bus and something would happen to me my family is there to help as if they were on another bus and something with him the bus driver would have to try to figure out what what's going on. As soon as my scooter was strapped down then they started loading the bus with other people that were waiting in line. I always felt bad because people had to wait and there were a few people that made nasty comments but just remember one thing I was on first but I was always the last one off!

The ramp at the Monorail stop for MK is very steep. I would take the bus.

I've rented an ECV from an outside vendor (although a "Disney" approved one so it could be dropped off with bell services at my Disney resort - I used Buena Vista Scooters but there are others). I also have severe arthritis in both knees and need both replaced eventually (that's a whole other story - lol!).

The scooters you can rent from a vendor seem much easier to use than the ones I see rented in the parks (which seem HUGE in comparison). I am not quite sure why you'd want to drive over taking the Disney transportation everywhere. I used the busses and monorail with no problem at all. I was there over the very busy Easter time in March and only had to wait once for a 2nd bus (which came quickly). I did rent a portable scooter because we took it to Universal so it could be fairly easily broken down and put in the car.

Question: Are saying rent the Disney World ECVs at (outside) the park gates

Are you saying rent from an outside vendor?

Personally, I would rent from an outside vendor, so that you can use the scooter at the Resort - and since you are so close to Disney Springs - you will be able to drive over there easily!

At WDW I use my ECV everywhere because I want to preserve my strength and energy for having-fun purposes! I don't want to remember my Disney vacation for being painful and exhausting. You will be able to keep up with everyone if you take the scooter along everywhere at WDW. Just drive that thing right on to the buses and go have fun!
