in 6 weeks we will be staying at BCV. On Saturday afternoon we are going to DS for lunch. We will take a regular bus to DS. But after lunch we want to go from DS TO AK.
1). Can I request the ECV Accesible van to come to DS?
2). If yes, how far in advance should I ask?
3) where is the pickup location nearest Paddlefish?
TIA

The Minnie Vans should service DS, yes. In terms of "how far in advance," there's no way to know until you're actually ready to depart. Reports are cars are in a bit of short supply, so there might not be any available/unoccupied the moment you're looking to leave.

Can't help with the last part. Sorry about that.

I don't know where Paddlefish is either, but it you look at the few most recent pages on the "Everything About Über/Lyft thread, somebody mentioned them recently.

Thanks for the replies.
I am still curious if anyone knows about ECV van availability

There are 2 or 3 Minnie Vans with accessible ramps, and I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be available to pick up at DS. Remember that they have room for only 3 Guests in addition to the one in the ECV.

Thanks joelkfla!
I am trying to figure out if we need to take a bus from DS to AKL and then transfer to a bus to AK or if an ECV accessible Minnie Van would be available in a timely manner. We have a12 noon Paddlefish ADR and then a 3:30 AK tour. Which do you advise we do?

I don't stay at the resorts, and I haven't used the Minnie Vans myself.

Others have reported that there were cm's in the BC lobby just to help Guests with the Minnie Vans. I would advise trying to find one of them at either YC or BC and ask for their advice. I know you can't reserve a regular Minnie Van in advance, but perhaps they have a special procedure for accessible ones.

I don't know how slow Paddlefish will be, but I think it would be a good idea to try to get out of there by 1:30. Then you can try summoning an accessible MV, and if one's not available, you'll still have plenty of time to make it using the buses. If you do get a MV and arrive very early, you can pass the time at AK seeing a show or going thru the animal trails.

All but the very largest ECVs can be broken down to fit in a trunk fairly easily, if you rent from a local company and are staying offsite they actually will show you how to do it when they deliver it and there are tons of youtube videos that also show how; you could do an Uber XL if you were willing to try it.

Yes, but the larger "travel-size" models can have individual sections weighing as much as 45 lbs. That would be difficult for some folks to lift into and out of the trunk. Standard size models can have parts over 60 lb.
