Lynn G, so sorry I forgot to start this thread!

Sayhello

Thanks for starting this thread. My husband and I will be on the Adults only trip to the Amazon on Jan 19, 2016. I know that is really far away, but is anyone else booked on that trip? Has anyone started planning for the Amazon?

I'm still on the fence for the Jan. 19 2016 departure...maybe meeting all the cool people signed up for it will convince me!! :P

We are booked on the December trip in 2915 ... can't remember the exact dates but it will be the Winter break ... we are still on school schedules. Excited but will be doing the Peru trip this winter so we are trying to focus our excitement there first!

Oops! 2015! That's what happens when you try sending info on the phone!

The December 2015 date on the website is Dec 22, 2015 - Jan 2, 2016. I've added you to the Roll call in the first post. If you let me know the makeup of your traveling party, I'll update your entry.

I have 2 trips booked at the same time, too (Scotland in August and Central Europe next August.) It *is* hard to focus just on the first trip! Of course, it's a great "problem" to have! :thumbsup2

Lawboy - definitely "Kewl" people here! We would enjoy getting to know our fellow travelers before heading out. We really enjoy the Adults Only Adventures, mainly because we have learned that some subjects are not mentioned when the kids are around - like the fact that guinea pig and alpaca are food sources in Peru.

Actually they did mention both of those as food sources on our trip to peru. We even had alpaca on the buffet menu multiple times.

that is great! On our trip, our guides told us it would not have been mentioned if there were kids in our group. They let the kids think all those guinea pig enclosures were for pets. Of course, this was also just after the release of the "G Force", so that might have been part of it.

12/22 is the one! We are mother and daughter ... both adults (but young at heart)! :)

We are booked for south africa right now but looking to cancel due to the Abolli outbreak. which trip would be better for Kids? the Ecuador-Amazon or the Peru trip? i am thinking amazon for all the animals they will see and the excursions but the Peru trip i am interested in because of Monchu Peechu. how safe is Ecuador? (we have 2- 11 year olds, and 1 - 14 year old

thanks everyone in advance

Did the Galapagos and my 14 and 16 year old like it. They thought the Ecuador portion moved slow but was happy when they got to the Galapagos. They enjoyed interacting with all the wild life. Just got back from Greece and out of 7 ABD adventurers it was at the top of the list. Loved it!!!

We are booked for the March 22, 2016 trip! Haven't thought much about that one yet because we leave for Scotland Saturday :)

We'll have myself, my husband, and two girls, ages 12 and 10 at the time of travel.

Hello all!

I am signed up for the January 2015 Adults Only trip! :cool1: As a single lady in my 20s, I figured the "no-kids" atmosphere would suit my style best.

Currently I am traveling solo so I am totally up for getting to know the other ABD-goers who will be joining me!

Glad to be here!

Hi, leholcomb! I've added you to the Roll Call in the first post. I'm *assuming* you mean the January 2016 Adults Only trip (Jan 19, 2016 - Jan 30, 2016)? Because there's no January 2015 trip that I can find. If you do mean the 2016 trip, then you are on the same departure as Lynn G & her husband.

I can highly recommend ABD for a solo traveler. They excel at making everyone feel welcome and part of a family. And I agree that the Adults-only trips work best for me, too, as a solo traveler.

Hello! I am signed up for the Jan. 2016 adults only trip as well. My friend Paula will be joining me. We are both retired teachers who enjoy traveling together. We went on the DCL 9 night Alaska cruise in May and went to Disney World and Vero Beach last January. We had so much fun that we are repeating the DW/Vero Beach trip this fall. I did an ABD Backstage Magic trip solo a couple years ago and am going again this December with my daughter.
So excited for this Amazon/Galapagos adventure!
Carol
