I made these "dry earse" boards for our cabin doors. If anyone is interested in one for your door, I can make you one. The board measures 8"x8". I will bring them without magnets on the back (less weight for me) so just bring sticky magnet strips with you and a BLACK dry earse marker. I can bring them to the first day meet.

We would love one too--thanks!:thumbsup2

I remember a lot of good special events - Don "Ducky" Williams sessions

I hope he will be on this cruise, I met him when I was two and he made me a drawing of Mickey Mouse and my sister got one of Minnie. It is currently framed and hanging on the wall in my basement.

Those are adorable. We would love one for our door! Thank you so much.
You got it.

The fashion police will not be present on the cruise. Feel free to dress how you like. However, I wouldn't show up in a t-shirt, board shorts, and sandals. I think business casual would be a minimum.
My sister will be crusing with us so the fashion police will be present! But don't worry, she only judges when paid to do so and not on vacation. She also could care less if people dress or don't dress up for formal night. So don't worry, your photo won't appear in any magazine or website. You might hear her discussing my poor taste in outfits though. I drive her nuts and she "can't believe we are sisters". When we booked the zipline excursion, DH turned to me and said, "you know you are going to have to tell her she can't wear heels for this, right?"

We would love one too--thanks!:thumbsup2

You got it.

The disneycruise website is making me pull my hair out today! I am trying to simply reserve some nursery time for DD and after taking forever to load, everytime I try to click "Save to Cart", it thinks for a while, DOES NOT save to cart, and then just provides a greyed out button. I have logged out and logged in, tried other days, but the site is just being unagreeable today. I have other nursery hours booked and plenty of hours available. It boggles my mind that such a big business could be running on such an insuffient website. I think I am going to make a huge door magnet for our cabin that says "Please do not refresh this page or use the back button during this operation!" with the flashing mickey heads. I bet that magnet would get "borrowed" off of our door!!!

Where's the "like" button!

As of today, we are showing only 45% cabin availability (54% last week). Cat 5B & 7A have fallen off the availability list. Not sure if we are getting more bookings, or if DCL is taking rooms out of inventory as they sort through GTY's. We are getting close to the 50-day mark when they usually start announcing GTY's.

Upgrade pixie dust to everyone! pixiedust:

The categories that are sold out are R, S, 5C, 5B, 7A, 10A, 10B, 10C, 11A & 11C.

I follow disboards on twitter and saw that kids will sail free on select 6 and 8 night cruises out of Galveston. I am hoping to take my four year old granddaughter sometime early next year. Sounds like a great deal. :cool1: Sherry

My AMEX will be free and clear for any upgrades that DCL wants to throw my way.

It would be "borrowed" by my DH! He passionatly hates the website. He has joked many times about how he would pay Disney if they let him design and fix their website.

We hit our 2 month mark until we are in Disneyland! Which means we could make our ADR. DH called this morning and booked a character breakfast for the Minnie and Friends at the Plaza Inn. I told him to get the earliest ressie he could and he got one for 7:10. Does this mean the park will open at 7? Nephew is at that age where I am afraid each trip will be his last before "he is to cool" for the characters. It will be a sad day for his aunt when this day comes. Maybe it will be postponed for a while as he has two 30 year old "uncles" who haven't yet hit that phase in life. I see a future Disney imagineer in the making, too bad he wants to be a neurosurgeon, and mommy wants him to be a plastic surgeon:rotfl2:

I am my office's H&S coordinator (which everyone finds funny since I am the only one from our office with a reported H&S incident-Boss dropped a MH cover on my hands and broke all my fingers-lost all my fingernails) Anyway, I was restocking our first aide kits and now have a very well stocked first aide kit for this cruise. The single doze packets are great for travelling. So if anyone needs anything-my cabin will be the pharmacy:thumbsup2 As a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, I like to Be Prepared!

Do we earn additional credit toward gold for going on a two week cruise? If not, we should.

No, and I agree. I think they should go by days aboard versus number of cruises. :rolleyes2

Our cute family of four have booked this cruise. Our first cruise no less. We want to do fish extenders but it won't let me PM anyone because I am new here. If anyone can help me out that would be great. As of this minute I can't find my room number, I don't believe we have been assigned it yet.
There is so much to look forward to I am a bit overwhelmed.

Thanks for any help.
Hallie

Welcome aboard Hallie and the rest of your cute family. Don't fret. You still have two months to get ready. pixiedust::welcome:party:

Good morning! So much has happened since I booked that I have not been able to get on the boards. I am finally caught up and need to just chat.

On Sept 20th....well first a brief history. My DH and I live on our sailboat. We have been in a slip in Alameda, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) for six years and on Sept 15th we cut the lines and started cruising. We were (are) headed to San Diego where on Oct 29th we will join the Baja Ha Ha, a group of a 145 boats, and sail to Cabo San Lucas. After a few days there we will sail to LaPaz and then fly out of there to do this cruise. Then back to LaPaz where we will cruise Mexico for the next two years.

So, back to Sept 20th. We were sailing from Captiola to Stillwater Cove when I was going up the steps to the cockpit and a wave hit the side of the boat just as I turned loose to enter the cockpit. It pivoted me and with great force threw me on the cabin floor on my back. When we got anchored I went to Urgent Care in Monterey. Gave me pain pills and sent me home. After two days a friend came to get me and I jumped ship for land. I stayed with her for a week and then flew to Phoenix to stay with my son and family. This last week I went to a spine specialist and had an MRI. Waiting on those results but he thinks I have fractured two vertebrae. I cannot sit up straight or walk for any length. So laying down on my side is the only option right now. Besides hurting I am BORED.

Our son left Phoenix today to go join my DH in San Luis Obispo to take the boat to San Diego. My son and DH will then come to Phoenix until I am able to go back to the boat.

Oct 4th was our 37th anniversary and we were apart. After years of not being together on that date due to work assignments we thought this year we would for sure. You just never know what is going to happen. Hug those close to you every chance you get!

This is my fourth Disney cruise and my DH's third. I did the WBTA Sept 2010 and we have done the WBPC Jan 2011 and the MR Dec 2011. We are excited about this cruise and look forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks for letting me ramble on....

Oh, yes, we are in a 5B. Do you need that for the cabin crawl?

Wow! What a story. I hope you can get things fixed so that you can at least feel somewhat comfortable. On the cabin, yes! Thank you. :cool1:

Hello all--- We're new to cruising and I'm trying to find out some more info regarding "formal" dinner evenings. What if you're not into wearing a tie and coat and your other half says she doesn't think she even owns a dress anymore. Is the formal thing optional or should you plan to just dine elsewhere on formal nights

Wear what is comfortable for you and appropriate.

I LOVE IT!! Please sign us up for one. Actually, two if you don't mind (so I can keep track of my parents as well as my kids). Now I just have to remember to pack magnets and the marker. That's no small feat. Sadly, I'd forget to bring my own arms if they weren't attached.

Last night I got a little too involved in the WVU vs. Texas game and during the course of the game, my right foot made forceable contact with the coffee table and I broke three toes! This of course is completely the fault of WVU defense and their inability to stop the ball (except when needed in the 4th quater) and had nothing to do with the amount of drinks consumed last night. On a positive note, DH and I got to play with the x-ray machine at his work, WVU ended up winning(barely) and I got to see Rich Rod and Arizona lose in OT. Overall it was a good day. Running might have to be put on hold for a bit though. Glad we decided not to do the Wine and dine half marathon.

Anyway, it reminded me, who torn their ACL? How are you feeling and when is your surgery?

So sorry to hear about your toes. But, I get it. Live with your team, break your toes with your team. The kids and I the same way. By the way, does the ship have a sports bar? If so, I'll see you there. Can't miss any hockey games. Oh wait . . . never mind.

Judy, I hope your back feels better soon! That is very scarey - TG you have too months to recover.

Let me see. Your boss broke your fingers. You broke your toe watching football . . .Poor BABY! remind me not to get to close to you:rotfl2:

Former girl scout here, too. I pack like that - I have the plastic box from my old owner's locker with a motley assortment of stuff in it from pills and bandaids to duck tape and super glue.

Yes, Diversions is the sports bar.

you have lots of eating options if you choose to do so, but really - most people who 'dress to the nines' are doing it for the pictures. "Business casual" describes it right, I think. I was offended by the guy at our table in a baggy tee shirt and backwards baseball cap while his lady and daughter had made an effort - to me, that was rude to them AND the rest of us.

Welcome Dodger dog and knittingmaven. We are soooooo looking forward to this cruise. 58 days 12 hours and 39 minutes until we are on the plane heading west but who's counting? I am that's who:banana::banana::banana:

The biggest question for my Dh is how will we stay connected. Of course, he means to all the gadgets we live with to stay connected to the world. What is the computer availability? Is it too much to he that we have wi-fi? Will our cell phones work in ports? Most of all I am concerned with staying in touch with family. We just found out today that Dh's step mom (90) fell last weekend and my mom has been bedridden after a fall in August. I call my mom twice a day and would love to be able to do so on the cruise.
