No, on previous cruises I think we've been up in the 200+ page range before we had to start another continuation thread. We're really just getting started on the posts believe it or not. :)

All this talk of September cruises is depressing me! Some of us have to wait until Dec to get back on a ship! I need to move to Europe where you get more vacation days.

Tammy:

Which Canada cruise are you on? I thought I saw your name on 9/7 and 9/12! Or are you doing both????

Beth

Hi Beth,

Orignially we were going to do the 9/12, but DH couldn't get off work. So booked the 9/7 instead.

Looks like we'll be passing each other on the 12th :wave2::wave2:

It's funny you said that cause Beth and I talked about that very thing when we were talking about this cruise. There's at least a couple of places in Europe where you start a new job with 5 weeks vacation a year!

Is there a 100 page limit on these threads?

No, the limit is 250 pages.

Some threads close earlier if the thread 'owner' (person who started the thread and the only person who can edit the first post ) drops off the cruise.

OK, I'm working my way through the A-Z info list and already have a question....

DH likes beer, but I do not. He thinks that getting a case or even half-case on the first day will be way too much for him, especially since we will probably drink wine with dinner. He's not a "beer all of the time" guy, he just likes one here and there, maybe by the pool. He also thinks it's cool you can take a beer to the movie theater on the ship.

Anyway....is the refillable mug a good deal? The sticky says it's $14.95 for the mug (doesn't say if that is full or empty) and then $3.75 per refill, plus the 15% auto-tip. How does that compare to just ordering a bottle at the bar? And if anyone happens to know what they have on tap, that would be nice to know.

 FE Exchange Update

I just want to let everyone know that Jeff has updated the information regarding the FE exchange on the cruise meet website. He has also included a link to the online spreadsheet for your planning reference.

The info regarding the exchange has also been updated on page one as well - thanks, Christina.

If you are interested in joining the exchange - please see page one for the details!

GOOD Morning, Happy Cruisers!

DH took a 6 pack on board once (German, likes his beer) and had trouble drinking it because when he wanted a beer, he was always somewhere else.

The mug comes with beer in it. I don't think you even have to carry the mug around anymore to get the refills, but I can't remember what method is used to keep track. One of the beers on tap on the Hawaii was Longboard, which dh really liked.

Jeff, that website is just a WEALTH of information - thank you!!!

Happy Saturday!

DH loves Sierra Nevada, and they just introduced cans for the first time a couple months ago. We are bringing some on board, but will also buy the beer mug for a nice little souvenir.

We are leaving tomorrow morning for Disneyland.pirate: it is only a week but we will 5 grandkids under 6 with us. Their parents are coming with too. The baby is 3 months so I think I will be doing lots of baby cuddling. I am going to try and keep up on the board but you all add pages fast. :wizard::wizard: Sherry

we just booked and are sooo excited!!! already got plane tickets with frequent flyer miles and hotel is booked too! we just happen to get the time off from work and moved up our prebooked cruise from next year. i will be cruising with my husband, 2 daughters(ages 2 and 4) and my mom. can't wait to see everyone...

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers,
We set sail in 20 weeks,
that is 140 sleeps!
Did you know?
All vessels crossing the canal must pay a toll. In 1928 American adventurer Richard Halliburton swam the length of the Panama Canal. Based on his weight, he paid 36 cents. In 1974 toll rates were raised for the first time. In 1997, the cruise ship Rhapsody of the Sea hit a toll record when it paid $153,662.66. In 2008, the Disney Magic paid over $330,000.

Halliburton was my hero as a child. I wanted to have adventures just like him. However, after seeing the Panama Canal, I like MY method of crossing better than his!

Happy Sunday!

Hello, my husband and I will be joining all of you on this cruise. It is our first cruise ever never mind first Disney Cruise. I have been lurking on these boards for years but I have finally decided to try to figure out how to join because I want to get involved in all the fun things being planned by the group. I am not sure how to work this whole forum thing so I have a lot to learn about everything. Anyways, it will be myself, Arlene and my DH Gary on the cruise. Sadly, our two kids are too grown up now for Disney fun so they will not be coming. We are celebrating our 24th anniversary on this trip. We would love to join in on the FE exchange and the Ornament exchange and get the PC certificate. I guess I can't pm the appropriate people until I have posted so many times so I will keep at it. We are so looking forward to this cruise and getting to know fellow Disney fanatics before the cruise will just make it that much better!

:)Woho! I figured out how to post:) To give you a bit of a background on us (and to start building my posting quota) I can tell you that I absolutely love all things Disney. Most of my friends do not understand my Disney obsession but I know you guys get it!! I have been to WDW 14 times. The last 10 times have always included my kids. However, my 22yr old DS lives in Montreal now and my 19 yr old DD moved away to university in Waterloo so they will not be involved in this trip. So I think it will be a bit bitter-sweet for me this time as I will be looking at all the young families and remembering when...
My husband also loves Disney just not quite as much as me. He really wanted to do a cruise somewhere and when he saw the incredibly low price for this one he couldn't resist. The fact that it is a Disney cruise meant that we both are getting what we want. I have some questions that I need the experienced cruisers to answer but I will put them in subsequent postings. By the way, am I supposed to write something in the title line?

:welcome: Arlene,

So glad to have you and your DH joining us. You have come to the right place to share your excitement about the cruise - we have a great bunch of people to share the fun.

My DH and I will also be celebrating our 24th anniversary. We have three DD's - 22, 20 and 14. The older 2 are in college and are not into traveling with mom and dad too much anymore :( our youngest dd will be traveling with us on this cruise :) DH and I are taking a 5-night DCL cruise in September, just the two of us and like you think it will be bitter-sweet watching all the young couples with little ones. On the other hand we are looking forward to doing the things that we haven't done before becasue we had kids with us. I can hardly wait to go to the adult pool - 5 Disney cruises and I have never been there - a hot tub without kids "swimming" and spalshing sounds heavenly :cloud9: so I guess their is an "up" side to the kids staying at home :lmao:

Thanks for the welcome Tammy. I am almost as excited to join in on these dis boards as I am about the cruise itself. It sounds like you and I have a lot in common already based on our anniversary dates and kid's ages. My daughter was with us in Disney World at Christmas and she still enjoys it but the thrill of Disney is waning. My son thinks I am crazy to keep going back to the same place. He has the travelling bug and he wants to see the world. I tell him that I travel the world every time I am at Epcot but that just doesn't cut it with him. Kids or not, I am just a big kid at heart so I know that I will have a great time on this cruise. I know that you are in charge of the FE, do I still need to pm you or can you add Gary and I to the list? We are in an IGT but I guess I don't find out which cabin until later. Thanks to all for their hard work in taking on the duties of organizing things for the whole group.
