Would you print the name tags on card stock? I'm not much with graphics but I can put names on a blank and print on card stock. If we pick a graphic, I would be willing to print. I'm assuming they don't need laminated since they will go in the sleeve of our lanyards.

I like the name badges. I can help print if needed. I have acess to a laminator as well. I have a box of the sheets.

Would you guys mind making them for everyone? If I sent you the jpgs via email would it be to much if everyone could choose what design they wanted and let you know? I believe prior nametags I had were laminated but I guess they don't have to be.

Love the name tags. :thumbsup2 We vote for Pluto. What if someone set it up for us like a word document and then we each chose the design and just typed in our own name and print them ourselves? Could it be like printing business cards? Not that I could be the one to set it up but if someone else could do it for me, that would be a few less you would have to print and hand out on the ship.

Good idea if the above can't do them all! Maybe we could set-up like a google doc??

Love the holiday lights name tag, so festive!

Any name tag would be fine with me. I was going to print one with my Disboard name and real name and put in my lanyard as I do this for each cruise. But I think if we all have the same background that it would be easy to identify each other as in the group at a glance (I will have to wear my glasses to read your name, or I will have to get very close to your chest! - I apologize in advance!) :lmao:

We are on the zipline as well...me and DH. And Emily, if you are allowed to bring your helmet camera, that would be great to get a copy of it. I agree, I hate not being able to bring cameras on excursions. We did a dolphin swim in Cozumel and they wouldn't let us bring camera/video cameras. Luckily we went with our friends and we split the cost of the video they did and the picture package so it wasn't toooo bad.

They did NOT allow videotaping when we ziplined in PV with Los Veranos. They did their own filming, so you could buy their overpriced video afterwards.

I called and they cited "safety" as their reson they don't allow cameras. I then explained the camera is hands-free and it would be turned on before we started and wouldn't be turned off until after. I then further explained that I have use it skydiving and scuba diving with out any issues. No go, not even using it with a wrist strap or the chest harness

So a long long time ago when our FE group was still small, I thought it would be cute to make journals as the FE gifts for kids. I think I printed 10 before I figured out that it was a horrible idea. Anyways, I uploaded all of the journal pages I found from the disigners to my photobucket for anyone who would like a journal for the cruise. I put all the pages together in a PDF. If you rather have the PDF, PM me your email adress and I will email you the PDF.

*I have around 10 printed that I could bring if anyone would like an already printed one. Hate to waste them.....

I'd love one for myself...

Summer and Autumn would each love one. They always journal because it's something we do in girl scouts. They both did a journal last time we went on the Wonder. It's so much fun to look back. :jumping1:

If the offer still stands, I'd love to have one of your printed journals for Moriah. :thumbsup2

You got it! So happy I'm not bringing 50 or more of these but don't want to waste the ones I already made.

I will be bringing my helmet camera and plan on filming the zips so if anyone wants the videos at the end of the cruise, let me know.

Some ziplining excursions DO NOT ALLOW CAMERAS of any type. They do the filming and charge you to get copies. I will say, however, the pictures that my kids bought were very good, in focus, bright and colorful. I never saw the videos.
DH and DD went ziplining in Roatan, and DD wore a pair of sunglasses equipped with a video camera, which was undetectable. They are easily purchased online. The only problem is, there was no video of her!!!

I like the Santa Mickey.
Me, too :thumbsup2. I agree that everyone's should be similar; it would be no problem to print our own from a google doc (she says, optimistically! :rolleyes1). On our first DCL cruise, the nametags had the Disname more prominent than the real name; on the second, it was just the opposite, and we all had trouble telling who was who, without doing that awkward chest stare ;). Maybe there's a happy medium.

Today is my birthday!:yay::yay::yay:
That is all lol
Colette

Happy Birthday Colette!!!

Don't stay on the ship. You've gotta go on the PV zipline, Tammy! We can embarrass ourselves together! :)

Where did you zipline in Northern California? Just curious as we live in Northern Nevada.

From the photos on the DCL website, the excursion does show a "bridge" to cross and also a rope ladder to climb.

Last December on the MR cruise, we booked a private zipline in PV with Los Veranos. The only thing I didn't like about Los Veranos is that I wanted to stop here and there to catch my breath and enjoy the scenery, but they moved us from one line to another really fast. I heard they had a big group coming in after us, so perhaps they were moving us through more quickly than normal. If it is the same company, I may pass on this excursion because I didn't like feeling rushed. Can someone confirm which company does the zipline for DCL?

So let's do a roll call. Who is doing the Canopy Adventure Zipline in Puerto Vallarta? If your kids are joining you, how old are they?

Chris, Marla, Moriah (14)

It will be myself and DH Jim. The zipline we did was at Kirkwood. ZipTahoe. We did a groupon deal and they had a problem with dates, so invited us to bring 2 extra people. So we got an awesome deal of 5 people for around $225. ZipTahoe does I think 8 lines in summer and 5 lines in winter plus the 2 bridges. They advertise for Reno residents, but I imagine you would want to spend the night closer. Our friend has a cabin about 20min from Kirkwood, so we made it a weekend.

That sucks that they won't let you use the camera. My friends DH used his go-pro and filmed my butt walking over the ladder. Still haven't seen it, but would love to. I am sure we will be buying the photo or video package from the company.

Also, we would also love nametags. I am totally non-creative, I can see an idea in my head but can't figure out how to complete it correctly. There are ID badge size templates for printing, so it should be pretty easy to create a template and print a bunch if someone knows how.

Bummer! Sorry to hear that it's a no-go because it's a great idea. Out of curiosity, did you call Vallarta Adventures? Trying to confirm that they are the vendor for ziplining in PV.

I'm very familiar with Kirkwood as I've had a season ski pass there for the past 14 years. I remember when they began installing the ziplines, but I've never checked them out. Perhaps it is time I do so. :rolleyes1

Not the most creative but plain and simple DCL name tags that are christmas themed. They do the trick and can be slipped into case or hole punched?

ScreenHunter_07Oct231412_zps38320c9a.jpg

Thoughs? I know Jeff made great one for our Med cruise!

PS, my boss liked the Christmas lights nametag. I forgot I was on a livemeeting with her and sharing my desktop when I was working on them!

Help - I can't see the graphics :confused3, but I love the christmas theme idea. If someone designs the name tag I can help print them too. Setting them up on Google Docs is a great idea, then those who are able to can print their own, and if they can't, we can print them and bring them to the meet.

Regardng the zip line - any idea of how much they will charge for the photos and video they take, want to figure this into our bueget.

Tammy

I would be happy to make them for everybody. They would be on card stock and not laminated. I will PM with my e-mail. I've never done a DIS meet before. Do I do one for each DIS name or one for each person in their cabin/s? And I would need people to match real names with DIS names; I can get many from FB but there may be others who aren't on face book. I will happily split the list with someone but am willing to do them all.

I've got several samples from previous cruises that I would be happy to send you for examples of how they might be done. I tried to post them on the board but for some reason my pictures are not coming thru when I preview my post.

I will be glad to help however I can. Just not up to sitting at the computer for long periods without hurting.

Those sound AWESOME! All I need is another gadget!!!By chance is DD bringing them on this trip? I would love to check them out. I love taking videos of my adventures but I hate being on the video. That's why I like wearing the camera so much.

I LOVE my GoPro, best purchase ever! Still bummed it won't be coming along...

Sorry guys, I think I deleted it when I added the other pages. Let's try this again, shall we.

I am sure I could help. I have Photoshop, just need to get it loaded on my laptop, so much easier when I was at work!

on my non disney Alaska cruise I bought the plastic sleves for our group and also brought people lanyards. People kept asking where we got them. They weren't quality like Disney gives and the plastic was ripping, that's why I thought laminate. but if people had name tags already they could just slip them in there.

This would be good too. I am worried of making spelling errors.

I like that we would have all the same one so we can see each other. I am happy to help print for people who can't. Or can do a big group.
