Lol, it's fine. :) We have to save for my dream WDW wedding first! Idk about the USA - we have lived here less than a year - but in the UK it's common for two people to live together for 3+ years before even thinking about marriage!

And a DCL honeymoon sounds amazing. :)

My DH and I just hit our three year mark of knowing each other. One year dating, one year engagement and one year of marriage!

Looks like the wife and I are going to be one of the old timer married couples. Still :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc after 34 years

You should be a shoe in for match your mate!

Does anyone know if the sports deck will be open when we get on the ship in LA? I'm hoping a pick-up game of basketball or soccer will help break the ice for my sons.

Summer (14) and Autumn (13) will go straight to the sports deck to play soccer. After they get an ice cream that is. In the past the only soccer ball they have is a hard rubber one so the girls bring their own. Will the boys be 8 and 9 when we sail? :boat: What city / county do you live in? Do the boys play soccer or basketball in leagues?

If we'd followed that same pattern we'd be halfway though an engagement by now!

And how is the wedding planning coming along? :)
On our first cruise, DH and I were only dating and everyone assumed we were honeymooning. Turns out our friends who made our reservation told Disney it was our honeymoon. They thought the DH needed a hint. Anyway when it came time to plan our actual honeymoon, DH tried to pull the, "we don't need a honeymoon, we already had one" card. I didn't let that fly...

The wedding plan is non existant. ;) I'm only 26, it took me 25 years to even WANT to get married and do the whole family thing. So we don't need to rush anything. ;)

I wouldn't have let it fly either!! Honeymoon = excuse to book a stateroom that is waaaay out of your price range normally... Or at least that is what I will try! We booked the Alaska cruise on our own but everyone still assumed we were on our honeymoon - despite having two different surnames! Do people who are just dating not cruise together on DCL??

I was just teasing ya. I completely understand, it took me to 27 and mid proposal to realize that I did want to get married. Still struggling with the settling down but do hope to have a family someday. My family has a hard time understanding this as both of my sisters were married with kids by 23.
Our honeymoon was booked with different last names and I believe most are as there isn't enough time to change your last name and passport before the honeymoon. I'm still working on changing everything over. Honeymooning planning was the best part of getting married!
Enjoy your cruise and boyfriend and girlfriend!

Thanks holula, Tammy and Jeff (hope I didn't miss anyone) -- we will definitely plan to be there well before the park opens on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Back to the issue of Early or Late Dinner: Based on everyone's great advice I'm still conflicted about whether we should do the early seating or the late seating with DD (8) and DS (6). A case can be made either way....and perhaps for us it will come down to whether there are other Dis folks with kids at the late seating.

Is anyone else with preteens doing the late seating? (I didn't see any discussions re who is going to the late seating, but could've missed it.) I think I might be bummed to miss out being in the same seating area as the large group with and w/o kids that's already forming for the early seating. I'm glad we have early seating so that we have the option to go either way, but we're sort of leaning towards late seating if we wont' be there by ourselves. :confused3

We are doing late seating and always have. We like not being rushed and the kids love the dine and play. My DH and I are late eaters normally since we don't get home from work till after 8.

My sister requested that we have our own table but we won't mind being seated near other dis'ers for the late seating if someone wants to organize it. Nephew is 9 and niece is 6 with 3 adults.

Hey Jeff could you please add holula plus DH to late seating.

holula (2)
Chrissyt27 (2)
haileyboo (2)

so our table has room for 2 more.

thanks Jeff!!

We have a table of 9 already, but was wondering if those of you also on late seating would like to have our tables located together? Let me know - if there are others out there on late seating and want to gather with us, let me know and I will make the arrangements.

Jeff - can you add mug318ca to our dining group please?

Tammy

32 yrs here and still going strong :thumbsup2...several of us "old-timers" here to balance out those with the little kiddos :)

Nope, no need to rush :goodvibes. Of course, I say that while I'm constantly prodding DD Jess, who is 28, to speed it up! My bad for raising such an independent, self-sufficient young woman:confused3...what was I thinking???

OMG, I was beginning to think it was not going to happen, but it has. We are booked as of noon today.

myself - Judy and my DH - Michael

friends in separate cabin are: Mark & Mimi

I had kept up with the thread until about three weeks ago so I am way behind now. If there is anything I should know, please tell me.

Both cabins would like to participate in FE.

Wooohooo!

Welcome aboard! :dance3:

My DH and I just hit our three year mark of knowing each other. One year dating, one year engagement and one year of marriage!

DH waited to just shy of our 3 years dating anniversary to ask me to marry him. I was ready long before. And yes we lived together the last 2 years of that. So not uncommon. He already had a house and my job was 2 miles down the road, so it worked out:rotfl:

If we'd followed that same pattern we'd be halfway though an engagement by now!

He asked in June and we were married in Feb. My sister beat me by 3 weeks. He had my ring by was waiting for the anniversary of the day we met. So my sister claimed the entire fall and I hate how hot it is in the summer. So Our Feb waiting, it snowed 14 inches that week. It all worked out, but was stressful, and beautiful!
