i don't know if any of you have heard of Teddy Ebersol, you have probably heard of his parents, Dick Ebersol and Susan Saint James. Well, almost 4 years ago Teddy died in a plane crash in Colorado. He was a classmate of mine at my high school. he was on his way back from our thanksgiving break and he died in a plane crash. well, for the past 3 years they have dedicated alot of things in his name, such as our baseball field, and some of the baseball fields that are owned by the Red Socks. Well tomorrow, they are dedicating our brand new dorm 'Teddy House' to Teddy, after we have classes, there is going to be a big ceremony. It's going to be really emotional, and i don't think i am ready for it. Yes it has been like 4 years but he made such and impact on so many people's lives, he was any amazing kid, and it kind of feels weird that we are graduating with out him.

There was really no point to this thread, I just needed to say it. um, have you ever lost someone that had a big impact on you? I also lost my father when i was 5.

I have, thankfully never lost anyone really close. I've lost my grandfather and grandmother, but it was their time and I didn't know them all that well.

In the past, three months, six people. Six TEENAGERS. Dead. Boom, gone.
The first, killed himself on Canada day. He was a bright smart kid, who was always smiling and made people happy. He had just graduated from the school I go to now.
The second was a young girl, about a year older than me, and went to another school. She was hit by a drunk driver. It was awful, so horrible.
And then, a week ago tomorrow, her boyfriend and three other boys died crossing over a solid line on the highway on a hill. It's been a rough week for the kids at that school.

I've lost my great grandpa on my mom's side and my great grandpa on my dad's side.
My great grandpa on my mom's side died I think 6 years ago. It seems like it wasn't that long ago. The place where he is buried is really nice. He was a veteran so they have this certain place for all them. It's really peaceful actually. It's nice to walk around there. Very Pretty and they keep it well clean. Like it's mown regularly and they put the flag beside them at certain times.

My great grandpa on my dad's side passed away just about a couple months ago. I haven't been to see him yet. But I will probably go at some point.

Then our 6th grade teacher lost her daughter to cancer 2 years ago.
Most of us didn't know her but we were really sad because it was our teachers daughter.

when i was 5 my best friend died in a car crash
and when i was 10 my pop-pop died of a urinary track infection or something along those lines.

Those kids who died a week ago were really loved. They were really great.
But my community is so great. They've been pulling together, teachers from my school went to drive kids who couldn't get drives to the funeral, go to the school to help teach where some teachers weren't available. There's been cards, letters, food and everything from any walk of life in my community.
It's so great to know that people care.
They've had support from across the country, to some schools in the states. Sidney Crosby who apparently went to that school, even sent a letter to the boys hockey team.
It just makes me glad to be living in a community where there's such a good support system.

we had the ceremony for the dedication today. both of his parents spoke, it was really sad i was crying alot. i think the saddest part though about it was that one my class was the only class that knew him, because the rest didn't come in until after he died and two that teddy couldn't have been there for the openning, i know that kind of doesn't make any sense but, w/e. we had alot of high power people there, we had the head of nbc there, we had the head of the nfl there, there were alot of people there.
