Ebay's solution to "revised your submission" issue

I received this e-mail from Ebay regarding the issue I was having when entering the hidden mickey contest using several ID's. After I had entered on one account, I would get a "you've revised your submission" message after using my other accounts.

I'm posting this in case others are having the same issue.

Dear eBay Member,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the Holiday Dreams promotion.

You should receive the VMK code approximately 36 hours after the
previous day's game ended. In fact, I'm told they are in the process of
doing them now. You will receive a message in the My Messages section
of My eBay shortly with the code.

Before I go, what you reported is common with shared computers or
multiple IDs. I would recommend first going to the following link to log
out of the promotion:

http://www.winit.ebay.com/scripts/logout.asp

I'd then recommend closing your browser and reopening a new one.

If the problem persists, please clear your cache and cookies. The
problem should then be resolved.

I wonder if this is why I haven't gotten the code on my second account yet, and why it took so long to get the one for my main account... hm...

edit - Yup. I followed the log out link and signed in again on my other account and it acted like I hadn't even signed up yet! Argh. At least I figured it out the third day instead of the tenth...

Just read this on Ebay's Community board. I think it could help those entering with more than one account.

Hi,

You should look in your My eBay Messages for the code if you qualified. We'll generally have the codes sent by 5PM PT the day after qualifying answers are submitted (Message sent Saturday for Friday submissions and so on). Today we ran about 40 minutes behind but should be better tomorrow.

If you have problems where multiple people are using the same computer please make sure that the first person logs out of the promotion completely before teh enxt person logs into their account.

Logging out of your eBay acocunt is not enough. You must do one of the following:


* click the logout link below the "Contact Us" on the home page
* click the link in the FAQ's:
* or just use this link



If one person stays logged in then all additional entries are just updates to the first user's account like ### and ### experienced.

Thank you as it took me until day 4 myself to try logging out and then closing the browser before trying again. So far it seems to work just fine....unfortunately due to this screw up I have lost out on 2 more codes, and potentially 2 more depending on if I did it right yesterday or not. Oh well such is life.....good luck again to everyone and hopefully if you score some Treasure Magic you strike it rich!!!

Bumping this up again because it appears that people entering the contest using multiple user ID's on the same computer are not receiving all the codes due them.

I did not receive two codes that I was due yesterday. I thought I had followed all the steps as explained in the OP message from eBay customer support, so I sent off another message to them via the contact us button at the bottom of the Dreams page.

A new logout link has been added--yesterday, I believe. After you make your hidden mickey and picture location selections, you then submit your entry. At the bottom of the next page (the confirmation page) the new sentence is:

Make sure to logout before another user tries to access the promotion.

It's easier to logout now since the link is right there when you are done. No having to go back to the dreams main page or FAQ's to click links there.

I noticed that today... used it and it crashed IE totally... but it at least did log me out before crashing IE
