I got caught up in a bidding war ( yes again  ) and now Im regretting it. Theres still over an hour...
Im hoping someone will snipe me LOL

Its a great deal and everything but I really shouldnt have bid that much for it

Do you ever HOPE for a sniper? lol

Yeah, I have. I don't think I ever got out of something I changed my mind on though. I've just relisted it once I received it. One time I ended up making a profit on it!

YES! Early in my eBay career I learned I need to think hard about what an item is worth to me, make my bid and don't look at it again. Sometimes that's easier said than done! In fact, I'm considering engaging in a bidding war on a watch in a couple hours!

Yup....several times!
Actually, I bid on a Pewter Disney clock that I saw in WDW during our second trip there. I liked it a lot but talked myself out of buying it. Then I saw it on Ebay several years later and couldn't resist.
When I got it, I realized why I had previously talked myself out of the purchase.....I don't have anywhere to put it. So there it sits, not being used.

That's why I always snipe. I figure out what an item is worth to me, then place my bid at the last minute. That way I avoid bidding wars. I broke my own rule last week and bid on something when I first saw it posted. Needless to say, someone came along and outbid me. I resisted the temptation to ratchet the price skyward, so I placed a last minute bid and managed to get the item for less than my maximum bid.

I've seen way too many auctions go for too much money. And it's often the bidders with low feedback (newbies) that run up the prices.

well I won it.

It is still a good deal. Over $150 worth of homewares for $41.00 so I will put them away as gifts.

Oh well it wasnt as bad as it could have been lol.

No buyers remorse on e-bay yet. But sometimes I wish I would have bid on something I didnt. I saw a portable dvd holder the guy had 1 on 2 different auctions. I didnt bid on the one already ended--no bids so I would have gotten it for the inital bid. SO I go to look at the other one and there are already 3 bids on it. So Im not bidding. Anyway I found one at Best Buy.

I've been buying and selling on ebay for over three years now. I just love that place. My latest buying binge has been on maternity clothes. I think I have a bigger maternity wardrobe now than my normal clothes.

After all these years, I now do most of my bidding at the very end of the auction (sniping). If I really want something then I will put in an initial bid just so the item shows up in my "I'm bidding on" section in my favorites folder on MY EBAY. It has taken many years to control my spending but it is very very hard.

My all time favorite areas on ebay is the scrapbooking and stamping departments.

Once or twice... if I win I usually just sell it and hey- it's a chance for more feedback. LOL!

I got sniped once...
It was two controllers and a Mario Party 4 game...
$25 and a minute to go...
It ended up going for like 37.50...
Still a good price for a game cube game and 2 controllers...of course being a ebay rookie i missed out on it..:o

Once I've decided what I'm looking for I ~ I usually just use the Buy It Now option.

I'm also a big fan of "Buy It Now". If the price is right and I really want the item, it beats waiting until the last minute to place a bid.
