I have a beautiful twin captains bed with bookcases by Moosehead Manufacturing that I am looking to sell. Has anyone had any luck selling furniture on ebay? I'm seeing most are listed as local pickup only which is understandable. Sell with a reserve? Any feedback would be great!

I'll answer. I haven't sold any furniture on ebay, although I've been a seller and buyer for 5+ years year now, and have realtively high feedback. Because it is probably rather heavy I would list it as local pick-up only (UNLESS you don't mind packing it up; if it is even possible to break down and ship). You'd be suprised by how many people relatively close by to you use ebay (I've sold many, many items and had local pick-up w/no problems). I would just state that cash is the only acceptable method of payment when the pickup occurs. As far as a starting price, I would just set the starting price to be what the minimum amount you'll take for it and let the bidding go from there. I personally do not like reserve auctions-- I don't list them nor do I bid on them. Good luck !!!

Thank you for your response. Can I ask one more question-If I listed it starting at $500 and it didn't sell what is my fee? I can't seem to find that page on ebay. Thanks again

If an item doesn't sell the only money you owe is the original listing fee.

I am actually listing some furniture for sale on Ebay this weekend for my sister and brother-in-law. They are just using local pickup to avoid a hassle with trying to ship the furniture.
