I have some name brand and designer kids clothing and I was going to give ebay a try. I know the rates are high but everything is just sitting in storage totes and craigslist was a bust for clothing. So, I was wondering, should I try to list winter items or spring items right now? Or is this just generally a bad time of year to sell since its kind of in between seasons and post Christmas?

Try to time your listings to coincide with when similar items first come out in the stores - so spring items when spring stuff is in the stores - not resort items tho. The tru spring lines. You want to get them up before the sales on spring clothes go out.

You can list the winter stuff now and it might sell. Often people are looking for winter stuff now as filler - but don't expect to get a lot for it. IMO Figure about 50 cents to a dollar for used items unless they are high end designer or boutique; lines like Janie & Jack, mini-boden, Lipstik, mulberribush, wes & willy, etc. always sell for more. Used Gap, ON, Osh Kosh, Gymboree, etc. don't go for as high prices as you might expect unless it's in like new condition. The best I used to do on these lines was about $2 or $3 per piece even at high selling times - unless it was a really hot item like a coat (my youngest used to wear the Gap toggle coats and I'd resell those for about $24). J&J will sell for about $8 to $10 per piece used - except again for the odd piece that would sell for much more (I once sold a used hoodie for $24 - more than I paid for it new :confused3 ).
