EBay...When do fees get taken out?

Hi. When does ebay bill me for my fees. Also I have had books sell and see in paypal that the full price hasnt been paid. For instance a 2.99 book looks like I was paid less. Is this be ause the buyer used a credit card and paypal is charging me the fee? Do I need to tell the buyers to add more money or does Ebay now automatically take out their fee?

eBay will send you an invoice for 10% of the final value of sold items and any listing fees at the end of the month. eBay will automatically charge whatever is your payment method on file (usually your credit card). You're not seeing the "full" price for your item on PayPal because PayPal automatically deducts a 2.9% fee for payments made to you through eBay, regardless of whether the buyer pays with a credit card or their bank account. The buyer is only responsible for the Buy It Now or winning bid price and any shipping. You don't ask the buyer to add more to cover your deducted fees. You need to factor those fees in setting your price.
