Recently, a bidder took the time to bid on six of my auctions. Thank goodness she "only" won three. She hasn't contacted me or paid for ANY of them. The auctions were over ten days ago.

I have written her very friendly emails (hey, I want my money) and sent invoices. Still, no contact. I searched her and saw that she has bid on 113 (!!!!) auctions in the past two weeks. And she is still bidding! I contacted many of the sellers and she has yet to pay them as well. She has only two feedbacks (from last year) and both are positive. I have close to 400 positive (100%) and am so torn about leaving her negative feedback. What if she leaves me retaliatory negative feedback and now my perfect feedback is ruined? Many of the other sellers I contacted about her feel the same.

All of the auctions she is bidding/has bid on are high quality, boutique girls' clothing. Why would she bid on over 100 items and not pay? Day dreaming at the cost of sellers? My first thought was mentally ill. I dunno.

The feedback system with ebay is faulty. I don't know what they could do differently, but this is so frustrating.

Even if she leaves you a negative just post a reply under it. I always read the replies and look at the other persons feedback as well. If someone has lots of good feedback and one or two bad it doesnt bother me. If they had something I wanted I would still bid.

Now lots of bad feedback--like she should have would be a huge red flag to me.

You can get Ebay involved. I had 2 items that sold and weren't paid for. I reported to Ebay and later left negative feedback for both. This way I don't believe they are able to leave feedback about you and Ebay is aware that they are winning and not paying.

Yeah, the whole "feedback blackmail" bothers me about Ebay too. People are afraid to leave negative feedback because the other person will likely do the same.

Forget the feedback for now. File a "non-paying bidder" alert with Ebay, and encourage as many of the other burned sellers as you can to do the same. She'll lose her account when 3 of these are filed and the FVF fees are awarded. I believe that you have to wait 7 days to file for your FVF fees after you file your NBP alert. You need to log in and look for "dispute console" on the lefthand side. You'll need the 3 auction numbers that you are reporting, also.

It could be she has a child doing this and she might not know????? Who knows but I would file it as non paying though.

Forget the feedback. Don't know what your stated policy on payment is, but what I usually do is, just relist the items as soon as you are able and add her to your blocked bidder list so she can't bid on any more of your auctions. In other words, just cut your losses and move on. It's a lot less stress! :goodvibes

I thought this too when I read what the bids were on. However, the bidder has her password. It almost sounds like someone is up to something.

BTW if you have 400 positives and 1 negative it won't have much effect on your rating. I always check the negatives & see what others have said about that person. A reasonable person will realize that out of 401 people one wacko is bound fall into the group.

Ebay is getting worse and worse. I've been using Ebay for a number of years and it's only in the last couple of months I've even had a problem. Twice this past month, I've had to file complaints with Paypal because sellers had misrepresented the items in their auctions. And, I'm not the only who's having problems.

Ebay is going to have to start tightening up. We understand it's "buyer beware" but not for every auction.

I believe the majority of us ebay sellers are honest, helpful, and prompt. Of course there will always be a few bad eggs out there. If a seller has a prolonged (the longer the better) period of mostly positive feedbacks, chances are excellent that you will recieve exactly what you bid on. If a seller has less than 98 % positive and has been selling less than a year, I would be a bit hesitant. I've been buying and selling for 5 years. I "check out" a seller before I bid. I've only been duped one time in 5 years of buying.

I'm in the same boat. A woman has purchased over $200 worth of stuff from me and hasn't paid me. I'm going to send one more email today and then I'm going to file NPB but she bid on like 14 auctions. What a pain this is going to be.

I've given up on eBay and started to give my stuff to our church yard sale.

First, don't be afraid of getting a negative in retaliation. When you leave a negative, make sure your comments are calm, factual, and does not insult the other party personally. "No response to e-mails, no payment after 10 days" would work in your comment to them and as a response to any feedback they leave you.

Yes, your feedback won't be 100%, but 99.9% with 400 positive and 1 negative is still great feedback. And anyone that reads the negative you might receive, especially if you respond with something similar to what I mentioned above, will not hold that negative against you.

Second, 10 days is more than enough time for the buyer to respond and/or pay. File NPB and leave a negative. Definitely warn other sellers.

Third, I would be careful in contacting the other sellers anymore. That could be construed as auction interference, especially if the auction is open. I would only contact the sellers of closed items, especially if they have been waiting over 7 days.

Good luck!

Most of the seller are wonderful. Up until the last few months, I've never had a bad experience with a seller.

Thank you all for your wonderful advice. I have calmed down b/c of your words.

It just stinks to take the time to list items and then have this happen.

I am going to block her as a bidder and file a report with ebay. I feel I have to file negative feedback. I hope it helps others and I hope she doesn't leave me negative feedback.

Thank you.

We have an ebay business and we deal with a lot of non-paying bidders. File a non-paying bidder dispute with eBay. That will get her/him to pay or eBay will mark her as a non-paying bidder and she will not be able to bid on auctions that block non-paying bidders.

eBay is great...there are a lot of flaws, though. It is consumer driven and they seem to always take the side of the buyer. In this situation, eBay will be on your side.

Good luck!!

Ebay IS great! I have made thousands on clothing sales since 1999. I have NEVER left negative feedback. I should count myself lucky. I am just so sad to have to do it.
