Just wondering if anyone is an eBay Trading Assistant. :confused3 I've been thinking of doing this to increase my sales and earn some extra money through eBay. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

I'm not .. however, i do sell for friends/family for commission. For example, i just sold stuff last week for my dad - and took a 25% commission (my standard rate! LOL) and made myself 88.00 . Not bad for about 2 hrs worth of work. (I take the pics, write the descriptions and handle the post auction emails ). So far it has been great extra money!!

$88 for two hours work sounds great! Do you charge for fees (eBay & PayPal) on top of the 25% charge. I realize you were selling for your Dad, so this may not apply.

Anyone else have experience doing this??

I want info on this also. I had considered doing this. Do you charge 25% of the profit? How about the listing fee, paypal fee, etc? Who pays those?

Thanks!

Sorry! Should have clarified that!! THEY pay the listing fees, paypal fees, and final value fees. So, if the auction win totals 100.00, say, i charge my 25% off the top, & charge them their auction fees, and paypal fees (if needed), and fv fees.

Yes, I am a Trading Assistant.

I have contracts, mailers, business cards, etc., but I get most of my referrals thru family and friends.

Technically, you don't have to be an ebay Trading Assistant per se, but it helps to be listed in their directory. There are tax implications, though, when operating as a business.

Do you have any good sources for your contracts, flyers & business cards?

I am so excited to try this  . By my research on eBay, there is no one else doing this in my little town :woohoo: . There are also lots of older people here who are sort of afraid of eBay and well, anything computer related.

Selling on eBay for other people is quite a bit of work and to me, not worth the money. Be warned that if something goes wrong, it's your feedback rating which will suffer.
