Ebay sellers What do you do???

Hello all , hoping for some needed advice here..
I had a bunch of stuff end this evening and the brand new baby leaps system and cartridges did not sell. Ok no biggie but then someone emails me Oh sorry I did'nt make it home in time to bid but want to buy the system. WHY do people wait sooo long to not bid then do this? What should I do relist and charge her for my relist fees? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have had this happen and have done a couple different things. You can just relist it for 1 day in hopes that she is serious about buying. Or relist it for the 5 or 7 days and who knows you may end up with more bids. If your item sells when it is relisted you are not charged the insert fee the second time. I have actually relisted items and gotten nurmerous bids. You never know when it will strike someone to be looking for an item on ebay, so relisting can work out. I have often wondered the same thing, why do they wait to bid and then those who post a question about an item 2 hours before the auction ends. Guess some think when you list on ebay you just park in front of the computer to watch your items.

Because they are hoping you will be desperate enough, since it didn't sell the first time, to sell it to them off-ebay for a lower price.

The reality is, less than half the stuff listed on ebay sells at all, and less than half of that number sells above the starting bid.

If you relist the item using the "relist item" link, you can get a credit of the relist fee, if the item sells the second time.

Or, if you have her email address, and are not using ebay's messaging system, you can email her directly and offer to sell it to her outright, and skip the Final Value Fee that you would be paying ebay.

I've emailed people after the auction ends before - I'm just forgetful about auction endings. If it's something I really want I will check if it's already been relisted, and if not then I email and ask if it will be relisted. Then I will try again. I have no problem waiting out another auction cuz after all it was my fault.
