I sold something on eBay and sent the buyer an email to say that they won and could they provide me with a shipping zip code so I could let them know the postage. They emailed me their address and I sent them an invoice for the total due and requested their name so that I could package their stuff, but I have yet to receive payment or another email back. The auction closed on Sunday, I emailed them their total on Monday and since I haven't received payment or any other contact I emailed them again yesterday, but still nothing. How long to I wait and what recourse do I have if they don't pay?

If they don't pay you, file a non-paying bidder request and you will be given your final value fee back. you will not get your posting fee back though. Send another e-mail to your buyer stating they have a few days to get the money to you and that if they do not you will leave negative feedback, and file a non-paying bidder form. I usually give them three business days and I send the formal notice from e-bay as well. On the last day before I file for a refund I leave negative feedback as well. All the information and links for doing this are onthe bottom of your My E-Bay page.

look up the members name and you will find an 'ask an ebay member a question' box somewhere..maybe your isp's aren't relaying the information correctly..you must wait 7 days to file the non paying bidder alert..and another 10 (right down to the hour) days to file for your final value..also look at the buyer's feedback profile if they have one..if there are a lot of positive's..you will probably be receiving payment soon..if not..you will have to file to get your final value fee back..you do NOT get your listing fee back..if you relist the item after an appropriate amount of time..that listing fee will be refunded IF the item sells..if you don't hear from the first buyer within a reasonable amount of time..and there were other bidders..you can also offer the item to the next highest bidder using the 'second chance offer' form..good luck!

You can get thier phone number and call. If it is an item that isn't much money, I wouldn't but......if it is a high dollar item, I would try calling. They maybe having server problems. I try to give the benefit of the doubt. After a call, if a week goes by an still nothing, second chance request and negative feedback would be left. I know that is generous, but I hate to leave negative feedback and I think you can tell alot by the person over the phone.
