Like most of you, I'm sure, I use Paypal to print my postage labels at home. I've been printing on full-sheet labels. The problem is half the page is the label and half is the receipt. Rather than constantly wasting half a sheet of label, I've been taping a piece of plain paper over half the label sheet so that the receipt prints on the plain paper. The problem with that is it is a pain to do and it occasionally jams in the printer.

Please tell me how you all do it. Hopefully, you've got a simpler method than me.

I havent used the paypal thing in a while but you dont have to print a receipt. You can just have it print a half sheet of the actual label. Its something you have to check uncheck, i dont remember but if you look closely at your options, it should be on there somewhere.

I use regular paper and just tape the label to the box. It is quick and cheap and I need to tape the box anyway. Make sure not to tape over the bar code.

I have done this for about 35 packages with no problem.

Definitely have to check on that. I really don't need the receipt so that would be great.

Stein - I could go that route but I like the look and feel of the label. It just seems more secure to me somehow. Maybe when I use up my current box of labels, I'll switch to paper. It would be cheaper.

On ebay I purchased half sheet labels. One half is a label and the other is plain paper, so I print the receipt on plain paper. I don't think I would want to be without a receipt. BTW, I did the taping, too and it was very frustrating!

I did the same thing as you, purchased the sheets off of ebay where they are half label/half paper. Mine were actually branded as Fedex labels and they work great! Such a time saver!!

There is an option in paypal where you can select NOT to print the receipt. I don't remember where that option is located but that is what I do with mine then I turn the labels around put them back in the printer and use the other half. Works great! :thumbsup2

Just FYI though - I always tape around the edges of the sticky label if I am sticking it to something other than a manilla envelope or a Tyvek. I ship lots of puzzles that I wrap in brown kraft paper and those labels DO NOT stick well to that type of paper and need to be reinforced.

WOW! Just when you think you've seen it all. What a brilliant concept. I had no idea such an animal existed.

I just did a quick ebay search and all I can say is 2 words - fee avoidance - big time. One seller is selling labels for 79 cents with $40 shipping. I hate when they do junk like that.

Once I use up my current supply, I'll definitely look into getting the half sheet labels. Thank you!

The Fedex labels are actually provided free to FedEx customers if they are used for FedEx shipments. People get these free from FedEx & sell them on Ebay :confused3

I found it handy to use the whole page printout. I cut in half, tape the label to my package and take the other half and staple to my invoice. It's come in handy countless times when someone would email me and ask where is my package or what is the DC number. I would have their information readily available that way. Otherwise, the info. would have to be handwritten and i'm sure i'd have made mistakes doing that. This especially works well when you have alot of auctions going out on the same day. I would keep these for 90 days, and then shred.

I always use plain paper and just tape it on. I never even realized they sold labels so big.

i've always done the same...plain white computer paper, cut off the bottom and use package tape to secure it good :)

You can select not to print your receipt ; when you go to create your shipping label the second page will take you to confirm and purchase label
right below source of funds you will see Printer : click on Edit Printer Settings (Printer options for USPS labels page) Under Laser/inkjet printer you will see: PRINT RECEIPT just uncheck it, you will now only print labels. Hope this helps

I used to get the labels free from UPS in unlimited quantity...two half sheet labels per page. Eventually, UPS started printing its logo on it, so I had to begin ripping that section off the labels...pain, but still only an extra second of work. Well about 6 months ago, UPS realized that everybody was using their free labels for USPS packages, so they started limited the free labels to quantities of 50 at a time, and one order per week. I guess you could still go to the UPS store and pick them up there, but I'm too lazy.

Since 50 sheets of labels per week isn't enough for me, I now print most of my labels on plain paper and put them into the free plastic sleeves you can get from UPS or USPS. They are secure and while it's a couple of second more work per package than the labels, it's a lot easier (and cheaper) than taping on the labels.
