Ok guys, need some help here. I know I read somewhere that you can actually find the resort mugs on ebay to purchase, but I don't know where to look. Can anyone help me? I'm looking for 2 poly mugs and 2 WL mugs. Just point me in the right direction!

Once you're in ebay, try a search under disney mugs or disney refillable mugs.

Just curious, do you collect WDW mugs? I actually did the search and was suprised to find resort mugs there.

Thanks Cinmell! I did just what you told me and got in on the tail end of some wilderness lodge mugs! Got 5 of them for about $30.00. Considering they are about 10.00 a piece (rounded off), I think I did pretty good! Now I'm on the lookout for Poly ones. I also bid on the CBR ones. We like to stay there too. Of course not this time, because WE WERE MOVED OVER TO THE POLY!! Happy dance! Thanks again for your help!

This may be a dumb question but are you buying used mugs? Probably not but just wanted to make sure! :D I would think that saving such a small amount of money isn't worth buying used mugs. :)

on ebay i bet they are used
someone who had/has mug probably used it.
that is my opinion, correct me if i am wrong>>:confused:i have used all the ones i own...

Are you buying these to use on a trip?? You do realize that they may not let you use an "old" mug. The mugs are for length of stay (your stay) and they change the design every so often.

I think I would pay the $8 per mug so I could use them at the resort, instead of buying used ones for $6 that I could only use at home.

Talk about posts that should be on the budget board. Or actually shouldn't be on any DIS Board, as the mug program is for the length of your stay only. They are not supposed to be brought back and used on another trip. Especially if you weren't the original purchaser.

The free refill program was designed for length of stay only. Many cm's would and do tell guests the mug is refillable for future visits of the purchaser. The refillable mug itself was never intended as transferable. If you intend to use these mugs for free refills you are stealing. Yes, Disney is expensive, but due in part to shrinkage (or shoplifting), and people complaining for no real reason only to get compensation. All this does is raise the costs for the honest paying guests.

Buying a drinking cup a stranger used, packing the mug and then drinking out of it just to save a couple of dollars? I always looked at the mugs as a souvenir with some added benefits.
I don't know whichI find more amazing--that someone would sell them or that someone would buy it

Hi! I know this is absolutely none of my business, so I must apologize in advance for asking.
Are these the mugs that sold for $31.79, and then you have to pay $5 shipping and another $1.30 for insurance? If so, you could have bought brand new mugs for very little more...

Just wanted to say, I saw the ones the thread starter won and they are the same ones we got from WL last month. But ewwww, I don't see it as much of a savings to drink out of someone elses used mug.

Thanks for the clarification Hellokitty. I must now say YUCK! :p How can anyone buy something off Ebay that they intend to drink out of just to save a few dollars? If money is THAT tight then maybe they should save up more money before going. How much money are you possibly saving to take such a risk? Is it worth it? Didn't you say you only needed 2 mugs from each resort? So now you have 5 from the WL when you only needed 2. So you have paid $30 for 5 mugs when you are only using 2 of them. For $20 you could have had two brand new mugs and saved yourself $10 to boot! That way you would not have to worry about what some stranger has done to those mugs just to get their jollies. Ugh!

Lailah, I just wanted to say the DIS is usually a much nicer and friendlier place than this thread indicates.

Yes, Liz, we are a nice bunch but I don't think the DIS condones stealing mugs and using them at WDW. I know I don't. Sure, she bought them but not from WDW. This is worse then ever taking them back on future trips. Has anyone ever read that mugs are good for current stays, future stays, and everybody elses stays? Don't think so. Hey, why not just trade them with all your buddies and then you won't have to ever buy them again! Sheesh. Give me a break!

Oh my! Where to begin....

Lailah... I really think that you're pushing the mug issue here. They are meant for length of stay, for the person that purchased them. What you're doing is the equivalent of stealing as far as I, and obviously a few others on this board, think.

Everybody who thinks Lailah is going to get coodies from drinking out of someone elses mug....HELLO!!! Calm down. I am sure she will run them through the dishwasher before she uses them. Have you never eaten at a restaurant that didn't serve their drinks in paper cups or come complete with straws???? We've all had a drink from a glass that some (many, even) stranger has used!

Erin :D

Maybe I missed a post or an entire thread somewhere here but
...
When did lailah say that they will be using these mugs for future visits?

Maybe Lailah just likes to collect mugs from where they had stayed?

I went to Coronado Springs in 2000 and 2001 and yes, I packed my mug in 2001 and used it. I figured I give Disney enough money and it didn't take up that much room.

Obviously this kind of thing goes on more than we know and I'm certain Disney is aware of it, but let's face it, if they were that concerned they could do away with the refillable mug program and they haven't.

Would I buy one cheaper somewhere else, or go looking for one to save some money, no, but Lileah never said that was her intention. She's purchasing mugs from three different resorts, for all any of us know she collects them, or wants them for her own personal use.

Let's live and let live people.

Have a nice day.:D
