eBay FastPass auction?

When I'm feeling "home sick" for WDW, I look on eBay for some new theme park treasure. (Or new Mickey treasure for that matter.) Someone posted unused FastPasses for five attractions that were issued late December. Has something changed that FastPasses are now good for an extended period of time or are they still good for the day they were issued?

FP's are still only good for the date of issue. Not sure why anyone would be auctioning off FP's...

I bet you could use them but I wouldnt buy them
Most cm don't care if you have the wrong time nor do they even look at the pass at all

Wrong time is vastly different from wrong day.

It is accepted Disney policy to allow late fp's within the day issued. It is not accepted Disney policy to accept them at a later date.

Wrong. Most CMs at least check the date.

The eBay thing is just someone tring to scam the ignorant.

Some people collect them, too.

I get the whole collecting mania. Really I do. But who the heck pays cash for pieces of paper you can get for nothing in the parks or by asking friends who are going. Anyone who's a big enough Disney fan to want to collect fast passes is surely smart enough to know better than to pay for them.

No, I think this is a scam, pure and simple, to make a few bucks off the poor ignorant dupes who don't know any better.

This sounds a lot like the elevator passes that were sold to the new kids in junior high. (There were no elevators, of course.)

Could be. I'd have to see the listing. Some make clear the pass won't work. Others are the scam you say they are.

I don't know who pays for them either way. But I guess there's a market for everything.

Ymmv of course but I know in my experience they seldom look at them, example...last trip to dhs I was with 3 others
After stating i wanted to hit rrc first for fp they showed me how to work the system...
we got 4 fp tix to STM, rrc, tot all at the same time using their 3 tix
They used one ticket to get a valid fp for the ride the use it again and it prints a ticket saying you already have a pass, repeat at the next ride with another ticket
Show up a few minutes before entry time (11:55 for 12)
There usually is a group of people waiting so once noon hits have the tix fanned so they see the ride name and thats it
the cm just takes the passes, counts them them (4), lets 4 pass and takes the next groups without looking at any of them except he top one
So as I said I wouldn't buy them because you never know and it's not worth paying for but I have experienced cm not paying/caring attn

Sounds like your group is pretty good at "working" the system. My mileage varies because I don't reset the odometer.

Lol :rotfl2: You know how many CM's read this board?

I wonder how much longer that trick will work...any guesses?

People will put anything on Ebay to make a buck. You know those free DVDs you can order from Disney to plan your next trip? I've seen them on Ebay for $12 and up. Such bull crap.

during my cp one of my roommates worked in attractions. he used to give me fast passes that would say use by a certain time like 1/28/12 - 2/4/12. so these could be ones that cast members have access to. i am not sure if disney still does it this way.

I heard people try to get FP to match FP Pins, can be a case.
Anyway, those who buy them to use them making a huge mistake.

I just got home from an 11-day trip and found that nearly every CM that was standing at the FP entrance for an attraction inspected our FPs before letting us through. As in, stopped us, looked for at least a few seconds, then let us move on. That whole "fanning" thing wouldn't fly. We had 2 FPs that were good for any MK attraction for a week, and when we went to use them they inspected them very carefully, making sure we each had one.

In our experience we definitely could not get away with just pulling the stunt that the PP pulled... And honestly, that kind of stuff is really frustrating to hear about.

Am I understanding you correctly? Are you bragging about "getting over" and entering the FP line w/o a FP? Maybe Jiminy Cricket needs to pay you a visit! ;)

Ditto. Just got back from WDW and the CMs were very thourough in looking at all FP. I had mine and my DD and hubby had his and DS. They were very particular to make sure we each had one and they checked the times on ALL of them at ALL rides that we used them for.

And, when I went on Space Mountain, the CM actually turned away the lady and teenage boy ahead of me because their FP weren't good for another 15 minutes yet.

Glad that CMs follow the rules. It runs so much more smoothly that way!
