This really takes the cake:

I was hoping you would please be kind enough to give me a discount because I am a full time college student without a job.

Well then why did you bid on my item?? Do these people think I sell on Ebay for fun? Good grief!

Roberta

LOL
i had one say "sorry but i dont have the money to pay now but i really do want the item"
Amazing people aren't they!!

I had a guy ask if we would donate some items to his "college" and ship internationally at that!

I have never had anyone try to pull stuff like that before! Unbelievable.

One time (as a bidder and a sniper at that) I bid at the last minute on an auction. It was for a video game for my son, so I had an exact amount I was willing to pay before I'd just forget eBay and buy it at Toys R Us. Anyway, I bid with maybe 3-4 seconds left to go and I raised the selling price from like $15 to somewhere around $25 within seconds, but I didn't outbid the highest bidder and so he won. I was okay with that, I bid the highest I'd have paid and he was willing to pay more than I was. Fair enough right, is that not what eBay is about? Well, he decided to email me and give me the riot act for bidding and making him have to pay $10 more (or whatever the exact price difference was).

I had read about people like him, but this was the 1st and only experience I had ever had with an irate user. I thought it was totally hilarious and after years of eBaying, I felt initiated! LOL

LOL I got 2 emails today....both from buyers

in my auctions it states NO CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS...PAYPAL BANK ACCOUNT TRANSFERS ONLY....this is stated twice in auctions, and AGAIN in the invoice..

yesterday they both try to pay with CC I deny the payments, send them email reminding them of prior terms...I get an email today..."WHY did you deny my payment?"...DUH!!! bank transfer, or money order. not credit cards

Do you have the paypal logo in your auctions? The one that shows a pic of the mastercard and visa? I know that confuses people, and if you have it there, than you are obligated to accept their CC payment.

How did that bidder--who complained because you ran up the price--get your email address? Can anyone get the email addresses of other bidders? YIKES

You can email the person through ebay...ebay won't give you their actual email address unless they are the high bidder on your auction.

You can get their email addresses while they are bidding. Just go to the bids, and click on show with email addresses, and there they are. Once the bidding ends, you can only get the email address of the winner. Only the person who is running the auction can get the emails. The bidders themselves, would have to email you through ebay..the ask the seller a question button. They must have tracked you down where you were selling to get your address via ask the seller, eh?

There's a button that says "contact memeber" on every registered persons feedback profile. You can email anyone that way....you don't have to click on the "ask a seller a question" button anymore.

I have heard of people not paying and I myself have fallen victim to a scam in which I sent the money and received nothing. But I have never heard of people acting so badly. I am sorry but I would forward, to everyone who works for e-bay, the nasty email that N.Bailey received. There is no excuse for such behavior. I mean really if he didn't want to pay a higher price then he shouldn't have bid! What is wrong with some people!

I've had this happen twice. I can't remember what the item was now, but the winning bid was only like $7. The guy never would respond to my emails. After two weeks I told him I was filling out a non paying bidder form and leaving negative feedback. He responded pretty quickly then and told me that his girlfriend had been in the hosptial and money was tight and asked if I'd wait a week until he got paid. No wanting to seem irrational I agreed but told him I fully expected payment by a specific day. He sent the money order and I got it a couple of days earlier than expected.

Another time, I had listed a computer for sale. It was an older HP. I had a buy it now of $200 and someone bought it the night I put it up. I sent at least 7 emails about payment over 10 days and the guy never responded. In the meantime, a coworker said if this guy didn't pay that she wanted it and she was going to pay me $225. So after the 10 days was up I sent the guy an email and told him I was filling out a non paying bidder form and to not worry about paying me. Two days later he sent me back a very nasty email telling me I was scum of the earth and that I'd be hearing from his lawyer soon. He said he had been on vacation and that's why he hadn't paid. If that was true, then why didn't he just email me right after he clicked the buy it now, or better yet, why not take an extra 2 minutes and go to paypal and pay me? Anyway I left negative feedback for him because of the email (it was really, really bad). I checked his user feedback a couple of days later and it was -2 and someone had the same problem that I did. I think this guy was selling a similar computer and used a faked ebay identity to buy all the competing computers that had a buy it now and reduce the competition.

The first guy left positive feedback, the second left none at all.

My username was my email address, so it wasn't too difficult for this person to email me.

eBay stopped allowing users to have their email addresses as their username several years ago, but for those old eBay foggies like me, they continued to allow us to use them. Well, they did up till what, a month and a half ago or so. They automatically changed my username on me sometime in January or February. I think it was because of all the people trying to scam eBay users and eBay just wanted to offer added protection for their users.

They switched my username to bailey29ew and all I could think was baileyewwwwwwwwww????? LOL I switched it again instantly!!!

You don't have to worry, users won't see your email address. They make every effort to keep your personal information private.

I had a lady call me on the phone....irate that I had left a non paying alert for her (after 20 days). Her excuse was she had also been in the hospital......after getting yelled at for 5 minutes and hanging up I realized she used buy it now!!!!!!! Was it so stressful using buy it now she was rushed to the hospital. If I use buy it now, I buy it now and pay for it now!
