Ebay Disneyland tickets - scary..

problem is, you end up with NEG feedback and he would probalby dispute the sale on paypal and manage to get his money back. It's just not worth it. Wish Disney would "sting" sales like this to stop it.

No... I'd make a new ebay acct... Make some fake drivers licenses... pay him the $60... take the 6, 8 or whatever day park hopper and NOT meet him at the end of the day... What is he going to dispute? He got his money and my fake ID. And with a new ebay account who's it going to hurt?

I can't believe someone would give a scammer their id...what about identity theft? Who knows what he's doing w/your license that day that could ruin your credit?

good idea hehe

I don't think buyers are given feedback anymore. Only sellers.

I am NOT saying this is a good idea, or trying to give someone an idea. I just don't think buyers get feedback anymore (but it could just be that it isn't *required*...I bought something right after the change in feedback, and the seller never gave me any feedback).

This whole thing stinks to high heavens to me. It reminds me of the old adage; "If it sounds to good to be true it probably is."

first i'd like to say 'aloha' to sy~~

second, when you pay the seller on ebay, if you pay through paypal, he/she will have your address and phone on his/her end of the receipt. also, when you pick up the ticket(s), he may have a goon on the side taking pictures, or have your picture on the fake id. when the tickets are not returned, he/she may be the type to come after you or worse stalking. there's a lot of crazies out there, it's not worth the risk.

You can still get positive feedback, just not negative feedback (not sure about nuetral though).

What I saw one seller do, he gave positive feedback, but then left quite the negative message about the buyer in it!

It really amazes me what people will do to make a buck and save a buck!

With something as important as a Disneyland trip, you'd think that you want the security of knowing that the money you spend is safe!

I guess at least if you pay with paypal you have that security- but giving your ID away!!! That's just asking for trouble.

wow...I would think if you were looking for a way to save money, then maybe skip on one of the more expensive hotels and bring your own snacks and drinks for the park...I just wouldn't attempt to buy tickets from ebay...and that is scray about that guy getting arrested!!!

That's a pretty common scam. For example, somebody buys a multi-day hopper; say a 6-day for $199. Then they "sell" the tickets as two-day hoppers, available between certain dates. They can charge each of 3 users $100 each; that's a savings of $32 over DL prices for a 2-day hopper. But they get it back, give it to the next person within a couple of days (it has to be used within 14 days of first use), etc. So they'd make $100 bucks profit on each 6-day hopper doing it this way.

It's all quite illegal, of course. The tickets are non-transferable and not for resale except by Disney-sanctioned travel companies.

WOW. That is quite shady. I can't believe someone goes through the whole
effort of doing that. Its pretty sad.

This can and should be reported to Ebay and they can shut the auction down.

Oh boy they are slick. Bidding on the envelope huh?

Yes, it's the same thing as the person selling WDW FP tickets. You are bidding on the envelope and you get the FP's/tickets for free. The kicker is, these guys always have GREAT feedback, but that's because once you're at the park and try to use the FP's or ticket and are denied most buyers have already left feedback.

Buyers cannot be given negative feedback, but I've never had negative anyway. lol All my FB is positive. :)

The one I noticed stated that you are bidding on the envelope. Ticket is included for free.

ohhh boy..this just screams illegal and against policies. If someone will get me a link to the listing, I'll report it. Maybe I'll just go look myself...

OK..I reported the guy three different times on three different auctions.

The internet has become the new home for scam artists. While I agree that it is sad, I also think it is pathetic that people would actually consider buying tickets this way. I recently read a thread on this board where some loser was asking if it was right to use a friends AP with parking because he/she didn't pay for the parking privilage. The "friend" was not going to the park on that day. How stupid is this.

If you are too cheap to spend the money legitimately, you don't deserve to enjoy Disney's parks. And if you can't afford to pay Disney's prices, then maybe you should stay home.:furious:
