I just had an auction close. When the item went from my selling list to my sold list the buy suddenly shows up as "no longer a registered user" no feedback after their name and they had registered on 12/14/05. Anyone had this happen before?????? Do I still send invoice????? I would assume not being registered I can't sell to this person right???? Help. TIA

I would try and send the invoice and if you cannot, let E-Bay know so that you can notify a second bidder - if there was one. If there wasn't one, you can re-list for free. That's such a bummer!! Sorry that happened to you and I hope it's a rare, random thing that happened!!!

I forgot to add that when I looked at the bids this person bid at the end. I have another bidder who I could offer a second chance to.

I did some research on ebay and came up with this
Quote from Ebay
Note: "Not a registered user" can refer to members who have cancelled their membership, or whose membership has been suspended by eBay. For example, a member whose correct contact information is no longer on file with us may have their registration suspended until the new contact information is entered. In either case, the member appears as "not a registered user" and is not allowed to buy or sell on eBay.

I guess I can't sell to them. But it looked like I could send an invoice.

You actually can't list for free. You pay, but you list it and if it sells the second time, you get your listing fee back.

Go ahead and offer to the second bidder via second chance.

It's most likely a law enforcement officer checking on stolen goods. E-bay is a hotbed for moving illegal (i.e. stolen) items. You just showed up on the radar.

So does he want to buy them?? :rotfl: I can't find any information on what to do not when this happens. You would think I would get a message telling me what I can or cannot do with these items. They are used cell phones that I purchased with a lot of phones. I could not use them in my area. Besides I wanted the other phone in the lot. I will wait until morning to do anything.

You are just a suspect dealer, and for good reason, based upon your explanation. I wouldn't buy anything from you.

Huh? The OP (seller) didn't go naru'd. The person buying from her did. Or did I miss something?

He may very well want to still buy, but once a person is naru'd (not a registered user), whatever sales they are in the middle of, come to a screeching halt. I've emailed when that has happened, and asked if they still want to go through with the sale. Usually they do.

Are you sure that you are posting on the correct message board? This is a Disney board and we are helpful and supportive of each other. There is nothing the OP said that indicated they did or said anything wrong and if you simply want to flame others, you need to find another board somewhere else on the vast internet on which to do it. :rolleyes1

Interesting thought but I doubt it. The phones only sold for 3.49 so we are not talking a major sale here. I can't figure how an "no longer registered user" was able to bid on my item and then show up immediately as unregistered in my sold list. We are talking seconds because I was watching as this auction sold. It is just weird?

I emailed ebay but I havent heard anything.

I had just the opposite happen to me. I won an auction for a Ronald McDonald Beanie Babie. It was one of the large ones that were only given to employees during their convention in Orlando. I got the invoice from the seller and Paypaled him $156.00. I waited for the delivery. It didn't come. So after two weeks, I emailed this person. No answer. I waited another week, hoping I'd hear from him. Nothing. I went to try to get his phone number and he was no longer a registered ebay user. I emailed him again and told him I was going to contact both ebay and Paypal. Nothing. I contacted both Paypal and ebay and got nothing out of them. By this time, I'd gone over the number of days in which to report a problem. I never did get my money back It was very distrubing. I learned that you can't give the seller the benefit of the doubt. If you don't receive your item pretty quickly, you have report them. I will admit that the person didn't have very many feedback. I assumed that he was a McDonald's employee who had received the beanie babie and saw a good way to make some money. Who knows.

Thanks for clarifying that. I misunderstood. I had a buyer who decided they didn't want the item once and I relisted and didn't pay. I guess it was a credit back.

Sorry!

I had a person to win and auction of mine on ebay. However, a few days later it said they were unregistered. I emailed them a few times to ask if they were going to pay. I later filled out a form or something about non paying buyers, I can't remember right now, and ebay refunded my money right then because they were no longer registered.

Update. Just went to ebay now and the nonregistered user note is no longer attached to my sale. I wonder if they just didn't have everything verified yet...they had just registered. I sent the invoice so we will see what happens. Thanks for all the input.

Well said! I was reading along and all of a sudden going, HUH?

I have never had this happen in that quickly of a time frame as yours did. Usually it is when I go to send a non paying bidder notice they have become a non registered user and my final value fees are instantly credited.

Very similar thing happened to me. 1st Edition Star Trek Ornament in my case. Seller had built up feed back over a period of months and than ripped off me and about 10 other people (that I know about)for the same item. Based on the amounts that were discussed amongst all us SUCKERS after we contacted eachother, looked like he walked off with a nice chunck of change. Same as you, too much time had passed and both PayPal and eBay wiped their hands of it. Hindsight is always 20/20, but after doing a bit more research, found out that the holidays are a particularly nice time for criminals to set up shop on eBay. They know that, unless you're talking thousands of dollars, eBay doesn't care who they rip off .
