Ebay advice needed

I recently purchased a small item (party confetti) from an ebay seller. Pay pal was listed as the preferred method of payment, and since this seller was in the UK it seemed like the only way to pay. (I couldn't find confetti for my dad's 80th anywhere in town.) When I tried to pay for the item, I was told that the seller wasn't accepting paypal. I contacted the seller, who said she was redoing something with her credit cards, and that paypal would be back up in 5 days. I could pay with a UK check or money order or call to make credit card payment. Now, I don't have a UK checking account, nor do I want the expense of an international call. I tried again today to pay with paypal, and now the site says they no longer accept paypal. I contacted the seller requesting that I be allowed to withdraw my order as I have no way to pay. I haven't heard anything yet. Is there anything else I should be doing? I'd hate to get bad feedback over this!

If you can still see the auction page and it shows the option to use paypal then save it to your computer for proof. in your browser choose "file" then "save HTML".

If the original action alowed paypal, especialy if it was still allowed when the auction ended then it is the sellers responsibility. I would not send personal information overseas, knowingly.

what is your timeframe? Is it too late for the party?

I do have the message sent to me saying that the seller's paypal would be back up in 5 days. The confetti was only $7 including shipping: I'd pay for it to avoid bad feedback if I could. I still have time to receive it for the party, but its not something I have to have. Its weird to be willing to pay for something, and not have a way to do it!

Maybe you can send a money order. That way they do not have a check with your bank account number.

I saved a bag of confetti from over a door in our sabotoged honeymoon suite. One of seven that did not go off on our heads...

You can get an international money order at the Post Office.

:confused3 Are you saying that the only place you could find confetti is in the UK? Why not try Oriental Trading or a party store website?

I know....why order confetti from the UK!? I wanted some shaped like the number 80. I called around here in town, and no one had it. One of the shop owners said the company was no longer making the numbers past 60. I did find it at one site, and I tried to order online from a company in TX, but at the end of the process I got a message that their site could not process credit cards at this time. In my next search I came up with this UK company, and figured if I could Paypal them, then I could get the stuff in time for the party. If I have to mail in cash (also suggested on the site...at my risk, of course), or an International Money Order (thank you for that info Marybet), I won't have it in time. I would never have purchased the stuff if I thought I would have to pay for it any way besides Paypal! The seller is an Ebay Power Seller with an over 99% positive rating...I figured it would be fine.
