Any advice with these? I’m making some money (particularly with rakuten bc this is my clothes buying season) and just not quite sure whether to get a check or PayPal. Can you do partial payments with PayPal? Like if I am buying something for $60, but only have $40 in there, can I charge the rest? I just don’t really get PayPal. Don’t really know the best usage of these apps and want to maximize the benefit, particularly for splurge money.

I usually cash out with a check from ebates/rakuten but I've gotten gift cards and checks with Ibotta. I like having my cash (or card) in hand.

Ebates/rakuten sends payments quarterly - I just get a check, but sometimes they will offer an incentive to cash out via an e-gift card; this quarter it was a 15% reward. I usually just opt for the check; but if they started offering Disney gift cards, I'd do that ;)
For Ibotta, I just cash out too - again, I'd get a Disney card if it was offered (wink, wink, Ibotta).

I just get the paper check from Ebates and cash out thru paypal for Ibotta - which I dump into my normal checking account. Then I can use the funds as I wish - not just tied up in a gift card to a specific place.

If you do have Ebates deposit to PayPal and you want to make a purchase that exceeds your balance, you would just need to make sure you have a credit card, bank account or debit card as your backup payment method. Then they will use up the balance first and take the remainder from your backup method.

I usually do a PayPal payout. I have my PP set up to use my Credit Card as payment for all items by default because I ran into a situation once where a seller didnt send everything in my order. PP dismissed my claims because seller provided a delivery confirmation. I wasnt claiming I didnt receive anything, only that I didnt receive everything. I lost my claim. So now I pay with CC because I hope they would be better at a resolution in a similar circumstance. I transfer my PP payouts into my bank account every so often.
