So I wanted to get any Ideas on eatting In the heat and humity. We are doing the Reg dinning plan(1 QS,TS and one snack). So we will for most days eat breakfast at POP,lunch QS and dinnier TS. There Is exceptions In there but i just wanted to get a genreal Idea on any tips you might all have.

I'm from northwest ON in Canada, going to WDW for the first time in AUGUST. I've been collecting heat tips off the boards for months now

1 - Eat late so your body has time to cool down
2 - Air conditioning!
3 - Sip water while you wait for your meal
4 - Don't eat until you're stuffed, eat until you are full
5 - Eat a super light breakfast, heavy fruit and hydrate well before you even hit the park - for an adult, 2 waters per 1 coffee

Thats what I got food wise so far!

thanks, eat late we got that down flat, but I did not think that had anything to do with the heat:thumbsup2. The A/C, I seek them out with reckless abanment.
Sipping/drinking water, learn that very fast after the frist couple days, was drinking water like a religon.
Dont eat untill you are stuffed:scared1:,can I just say I will??:rotfl2:
Really thank you for the suuggestons. We are usually spring visitors so for the most part we never have to deal with the humidty. We went last Fall for MNSSHP and for the frist timne really got a taste of Flordia humidty:scared1:. So I wanted to be better prepaird this trip.

The dining plans @ WDW years back were quite different and we stuffed ourselves silly at every meal! Not a great idea, but we were younger then! :lmao:

Now we tend to do a lot of fruit, salads, sandwiches (hot or cold) and yogurt....also, of course, ice cream!:goodvibes Eating lightly is so important when it is hot/humid. Your digestive system doesn't have to work as hard and you don't feel as sluggish, IMHO.

Try to stick with water or juice and away from soda and adult beverages (yes, wonderful, but they can make you feel the heat more  ), if only while in the parks. Try Crystal Light or something similar for flavoring.

We've found that we don't eat like we do at home.....we're just not that hungry in the heat and gorging ourselves will make us miserable, so, no dining plans for us, plus we hate the schedules that they include. We enjoy a good breakfast, have a pool lunch every day with fixin's we picked up at the grocery store in route ( salami, ham, bologna, rolls and chips plus beverages) and we never cared for Disney's TS meals (too much hype over mediocre food at a ridiculous price) we can find good meals at CS places all over the property even at other resort food courts. I know that after a few days of restaurant food, I want a homemade sandwich, so them picnics serves the purpose for us and it's an everyday break from the bustle and heat in the parks, plus we get to enjoy our resort and pool. We're on property long enough to do this( 9-12 nights) and that allows us to take Disney at a relaxed and leisurely pace, even in the heat. But, it's different strokes for different folks but this program works for us and we come home relaxed and not beat and over stuffed.

We do a lite breakfast, lunch is the larger TS meal of the day and dinner is QS. And we don't drink any soda, just water, milk or juice. Try to stay away from the heavy stuff and eat fresh fruit and salads.

;)

I recommend the frozen banana over ice-cream. I try to avoid dairy products when I'm out in the sun all day (I'm not sure why, but it works), but the frozen banana is wonderful. It's cold, has the texture of ice-cream and, when it melts, it's a banana, not a pool of soup.

Try to add a long(ish) sit-down ride/show/attraction to every hour or so of your day. That'll take you out of the sun for a while and let your body cool off and rest.

If all else fails, there's always the Singing in the Rain umbrella at Hollywood Studios, not to mention the giant Coke bottle.

I live in Georgia - have lived here my entire life. So, quite accostomed to heat, still, eating hot food in the heat is awful!

So, I usually try to find indoor food areas (like cosmic rays starlight cafe) - with how incredibly hot it is, you need all the breaks you can get from the heat. I usually choose to drink powerade all throughout the day.

Of course, dress for the parks appropriately. I have long hair and even though it looks much better down, I always have it in a ponytail with a white/light t-shirt and shorts. I agree about light breakfasts. Also, our lunches tend to be small - hamburger or something. Biggest meal is at dinner when we're outta the heat!

Stay hydrated!

I recently read that the best recovery beverage following strenuous exercise is now thought to be low fat chocolate milk--haven't tried it myself yet, but it might be something to try out after a strenuous day of touring.
I try to avoid too many salty snacks when I am at WDW, as I find I get a bit of a salt buzz from them.

Thanks thats really alot of great Info, I am going to cut and paste them Into my planner. Eating In a/c Is a must for us. Thats our time to cool off unless Its not to hot then its nice to eat out doors. We are doing the DP so we can try more places this trip,so my plan Is to eat 3 to 4 small meals a day. With the two of us we can try more meals, and sample off each other. This will also tie Into the breaks through out the day. With the couple of Buffets that will be kind of hard, but still we will try to keep with the plan!.

That's what my sister and I did on our last trip. Every couple of hours, we shared a meal, so we were able to eat at a lot of different places, try a lot of new things, and not eat too much at once. We got frozen Cokes and frozen bananas for snacks, but still ended up getting a lot of take-home snacks.

Yep this Is my thought exactly, but we will do both share a meal and nibble off each others,we do have our Favorits that will be hard to share:rotfl2:. Again this comes back to my break theory, so we can go longer we take more breaks and get to sample more places at the same time:cool1:.
