I like eating there and may try it solo on my next trip - has anyone else done? Did you feel comfortable as a solo?

I have dined at many of the resort restaurants many times including Ohana. It's not like a typical buffet servers where you go up and select the food yourself they actually bring all different types of meat to your table and as much as I enjoyed it it was way too much food.

I have been to O'hana and many other WDW restaurants solo and have never felt uncomfortable. But I am used to business travel and going to restaurants solo. I have had a good and a bad experience at O'hana solo. The bad had nothing to do with being solo, it was a bad server. It was so bad that I felt I had to ask for the Manager and then all was taken care of, including comping most of the meal cost.

I've read that they still bring you family-sized portions at Ohana even if you're dining alone. As long as that won't bother you, I think you'll enjoy yourself. It's all about going in with a positive attitude, smiling at folks, & striking up friendly conversations.

Have fun!

That's what has always kept me from trying Ohana or any other family style restaurant. Can you not request smaller portions?
