Wondered if we could grab lunch & eat it on the Riverboat ride or TTA? Is eating on rides allowed? What about giving dd11 mo Cheerios to keep her occupied during the longer shows (Philharmagic & the MGM shows)? I never see it mentioned anywhere & I don't want to do something against the rules!

You won't be able to take food on TTA. A few trips ago I took my morning coffee with me. It was so wonderful waking up while riding around Tomorrowland. This year I was with some friends and we were going to do this. We were about to step on the ramp up to the TTA loading station and the CM stopped us and told us no drinks on the ride. I don't know if the policy changed or I just got lucky the first time. But if they don't allow drinks, they won't allow food. I don't know about the Riverboat, but I suspect the answer will be no there too.

You won't have any problems with the cherrios. Most parents do that. It's not like you're feeding her spaghetti-os :)

Don't know what the general policy is but I was riding the boat in The Land at Epcot last year and the family in front of us brought out sandwhiches and bags of doritos as soon as we started. It seemed to throw the CM who was serving as the guide off but she never said anything to them. Of course, this is a different situation.....we were in small boats with only a few people and someone trying to narrate and couldn't hear anything but ruffling bags and crunching chips. I could see where it would be easier to do on things like the Riverboat but I'm not sure if it's allowed. I've never seen anyone with food on them.

Philharmagic-Definitely NOT!

Fantasmic, Beauty and the Beast-Yes, since they're outside

Tarzan-Yes, it's outside

Basically if it's inside and not a restaurant you probably can't eat there. Most rides are a no, but the riverboat may allow it. Cheerios are probably ok most places for the little one I would think, as long as you're careful. They'll stop you going into most things that don't allow food and make you get out of line or throw it away (Lion King show, for example)

We took our bottled beverages (which were out in plain view as we entered the ride queue and boarding area of TTA) with no problem. We saw a large group board before us with beverages and were drinking them before they departed the boarding area, and nothing was said to the large group or to us. I guess it depends on the CM. I saw no signs posted on TTA. I would probably ask next time as not to break any rules. Although, if there is a rule, Disney ought to post them at the entrance of the ride queues as to avoid any confusion.

On TTA in May, we could ride with a bottled water but not with a frozen smoothy-type drink. I think the cap may make the difference.

I agree... We were there in March and rode TTA many, many times. I was drinking a Diet Coke in a regular cup (with a straw) and the CM told me I could not take it on. But the times we had bottled water or PowerAde, it was no problem. Also, we always had small snacks with us (carried in a backpack) so if we felt like munching a little on them while riding, we did.

Brings back memories! :D My DD (now 9) practically lived on cheerios from 6 months on. We took them EVERYWHERE! (We even had a cute little container for them!) Never, did anyone tell me to put them away.

Ok, let's do the math:

Cheerios + Baby =

No cheerios + Baby =

Bring the Cheerios!

Ain't it the truth Dewey Girl!!
I have the cute container too - it is a round yellow circle (supposed to look like a giant Cheerio is my guess) with a section that opens to dole out the o's!! Not very practical, it opens up easily & all the Cheerios can spill out, but it IS cute!
