We'll be staying at Coronado Springs this fall with the Dining Plan. I think that the Pepper Mill is considered a TABLE service meal NOT a true Counter Service meal unless you take out. Sooo, we'll be taking out a lot and could end up needing to eat on the bus sometimes.

Do you think we'll have a problem eating on the bus ride? :confused3

Disney has a rule against eating on their busses. So you will need to figure something else out. If the dirvers see someone eating, they will say something, in my experience.

Think about what the busses would look like if you had a bunch of people eating on them. A lot of people are just not neat, and could care less what they spilled on the floor. Shudder!

Agreeing with what maxiesmom said; and letting the OP know that there are tables or benches outside (behind Pepper Market) where they can eat.

Or, with a bit of preplanning someone can go get the food and bring it back to the room. Or food can be purchased in the parks.

There are multiple signs on all buses indicating no eating or drinking on the buses.

Hi ~ Pepper Market is a counter service (and a great deal at that :)), so you should able to eat there with no problem using a counter service credit. We have been known to have a snack or two on the bus and have never been reprimanded. I think as long as it's not a full blown meal and you are considerate, you will be fine.

There is a no food, no drink rule on the buses. Is it enforced? Not always. If you get on the bus with a closed container of liquid, the driver most likely won't say anything. But if you get on with a huge container of soda with no top and you may be told to leave it behind. Want to eat your bagel??? Shouldn't be an issue. But, I doubt you'll get away with sitting there, cheeseburger meal on your lap, enjoying a traveling picnic.

I have to admit, been going to Disney for 20 years and always try to be a rule follower, apparently we have been breaking this rule on a consistent basis. Often times our breakfast is a bottled drink and granola bar or Pop-Tart, never had a driver say a word to us..

The PP are correct, it is a counter service meal. What you are thinking of is that if you dine-in, they automatically add a gratuity to your bill (I think 10%). If you get your meals to go, you don't have that 10% charge.

Disney has a rule against eating on their busses.

I understand that Cockroaches are attracted to crumbs and sweet sticky drink spills. Florida is hot & damp - ideal climate for cockroaches.

If the drivers see someone eating, they will say something,

I understand that drivers are responsible for the cleanliness of their bus and have to clean up anything spilled at the end of their shift.

I wasn't planning to take a sloppy chimchanga on the bus or anything, just was hoping a coffee and a wrapped bagel might not be a big deal.;)

Didn't want to have to dismount from the bus and lose time if he saw a cup of coffee in my hand.

Just plan ahead. Leave your room in enough time to eat then board a bus (e.g. just as if you left the room in enough time to sit down in the counter service restaurant while eating the bagel/drinking the coffee).

I guess you have to decide if the signs that say no food or drink pertain to you or not. You make the call and if the bus driver doesn't say anything, then I guess you are fine..... though I tend to think rules are there for a reason, chimichanga or bagel, makes no difference.

This is just my families experience but in the past when taking bottles of chocolate milk or tea onto the buses the bus drivers saw we had drinks and never said anything about brining drinks on. We were also not trying to hide them or anything, so again that has been our experience.

Our experience has been similar. With plastic bottes with lids, and even styrofoam to go cups (also with lids), we have not had any problems.

and remember there is a chance you will have to stand so it may be awkward juggling everything, especially a hot coffee.

As others have said, no food on the busses. You can either sit in the Pepper Market and eat or get it to go and eat it at the tables by the water. We would do that then head off to the parks. Either way it's counter service.
Have a good trip.

We often grab a breakfast snack before getting on Disney buses, but we try to finish everything while waiting for the buses at the bus stop. If we see a bus for our destination arriving before we're finished, we've been known to let it go and wait for the next one. If it's a candy bar or something, they'd probably let you get away with it, but I don't want to put the bus driver in the position of having to determine whether to kick me and my juice-drinking, muffin-eating family (those are sticky items) off the bus.

The drivers always seem to notice when you put up the folding tables and put on a table cloth........

What they're apparently talking about when they mention takeout and TS versus CS at Pepper Market is that Pepper Market, despite its being a counter service, charges a 10% autogratuity if you eat there. But if you carry the food out, you don't pay the autogratuity.

If you are on the dining plan I believe that gratuity is included. Although I am sure that I saw a few people post that they were asked to pay it on the dining plan.

And it's a CS, not a TS on the plan. You will spend a CS credit whether you eat indoors or carry it out.

There is a rule about eating and drinking on the buses. It's generally broken by riders but maybe the drivers don't notice them sneaking snacks. I'm sure they'd notice a full carryout meal being consumed on the bus. If you want to carry out, why eat on the bus? There are tables by the CS lake where you can dine.

I have seen some bus drivers prohibit lidless drinks but bottled ones and cups with lids are OK.
