EATING IN THE ROOM REVISITED!!need in room meal ideas please

Thanks for the suggestions. Mine is a very small microwave, it doesn't have to be in a special plug or anything, I am still not sure if nothing else we will use the one in the food court. I just hope our room isn't a mile away. Weve never stayed at the Pop Century so I am not sure how the buildings are set up. last time we stayed at the ASMu we got lucky and had a room close by the food court.

Hi Kim,
I don't know the answer to your question as we have never stayed at Pop. I would recommend going to the resorts brd and looking for the Pop q&a thread. There are a couple of CM's who actually work at Pop who will be able to answer your questions.

Tyler (chip & dale express) is one

and I can't remember the name of the other

They are both very nice & helpful.

Have a great trip!

BTW, when we stay at the Values we bring our hot plate, mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, electric skillet, and baby george grill, you know you really have to improvise in there, and for anyone who is reading this....I am just kidding!

hahahaha!

I think the note about the dedicated plug is the fact that the outlet is "dedicated" which means that it doesn't tie into any other outlets. Not that it needs a special plug. Microwaves, even little ones can easily "blow a fuse" "flip a breaker" etc if they aren't on their own line. Computer/Electrical Engineering major (still a student) just wanting to spout out my "learnings" ;)

I am not sure where all the "rules" about what you can and cannot use are, but IMHO it just wouldn't be worth the risk to "short out" an entire wing of the building with my "illegal", if that is the case, microwave  which would be just my luck!

Anyway, have a great trip!

Well, I have decided not to worry about bringing it anyways, just another hassle, I am thinking that if we get a room that is close by the food court then I will use the microwave in there. If not then we will probably go off site to eat somewhere else.
Thanks,
Kim

Just for your info:

For anyone staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins who were thinking of bringing a crockpot, this is the "official" reply I got when I wrote to WDW Guest Services to ask if it was okay:

"You are welcome to bring your own crockpot as we do not provide them. For safety, we do ask that you do not leave your crockpot unattended when in use. Bon Appétit!"

Now, at first I thought, well, great...what good is a crockpot if you have to be there all day to watch it? But someone suggested to do what they did...make dinner in the crockpot at night while you sleep, stick it in the refrigerator in the morning, then either reheat it on high when you get back (if early enough in the evening) or microwave it if you want to eat right away. Not a bad idea.
