I am trying to figure out our PS/ADR for our next trip and am thinking of doing a meal at Cinderella's Castle.

As I've never been inside the castle can you please tell me why it's so special? Do you get to sit by windows and look out upon the Magic Kingdom? With 5 kids and 6 adults we're trying to find something that would be different yet nice. We're on the MYWD so the $$ isn't a factor.

I am not looking for other diining options, just want to know some opinions about the castle dining. Thanks! :)

For my family, it's simple; atmosphere and magic. There's nothing more special to my 2 girls then eating in Cinderella's Castle. They feel so special.

Location is convenient as well.

I've never had a window seat though.

Is it as hard to get dinner PS/APR's as it is for breakfast?

Our experiences have been...

Early seatings to ensure window seats
Peter Pan and Cap'n Hook running past the 2nd floor windows
Cobalt blue goblets
Awsome dessert menu
Being called to Dine as the "Royal Troyer Family" followed by a gong
Having wait staff refer to you as "lady" or "princess" or whatever
And on our Honeymoon, pixie dust on our table and free
wine goblets for celebrating.

We love dining in the castle. Since they have brought characters into the lunch, we changed or meal to dinner.

Have a great trip!

No, it's not as hard but I wouldn't wait until it's close to your trip to get it. It also depends on the time of year you are going.

The breakfast (and now lunch) is much harder to get due to the princesses but it's also a nice place to eat for dinner so once you know you want to eat there, book it.

we did dinner in the castle last friday (didnt have trouble getting the PS, but we did book ahead)......it was nice, but nothing great. The food was tasty, but the bill seemed high considering it was absent alcohol (which is usually what boosts a dinner bill).....

that said, my son LOVED eating in the castle and it was a good experience for him. we did not get a window, but could see out the window. the dining room is not very large

Also--if you can't get Breakfast--Cinderella does meet and greets in the waiting area.

I enjoyed the meals and atmosphere.

Are any of those 5 kids little girls? I can't imagine a little girl alive that wouldn't be thrilled with eating in a castle. My dd will be having her 9th birthday dinner there. She doesn't know it and won't until we walk in or I would hear about nothing else between now and November.

Ummm...You're eating in THE CASTLE!! What could be cooler than that?? :goodvibes

DH and I have had lunch at the castle twice and really enjoyed it both times. The atmosphere is great and so is the food and service. However, both times we went, there were never any characters downstairs or running around outside, so don't get your hopes up on that one. We'll be doing dinner the castle in December...no more lunch since they switched it a character meal. :(

Two of them are girls, DD8 and niece 2. The rest are boys.

I am going to try to get the breakfast for DD and I to do. I didn't know that they changed the lunch to a character meal also. Same characters as breakfast?

We do breakfast there with just the girls and then do dinner with the whole family. We love CRT for both. Dinner is great. The food is very good and service is wonderful. We've also seen the Fairy Godmother and Cindy in the lobby.

The lunch is changing to a character meal June 10th. It will be like breakfast with the princesses. Except adults will get to pick from I think 5 entrees. It's still a set price.

Thanks for the info! Maybe we'll try to do dinner and breakfast too.

hi,

We will be eating dinner tonight at the castle. :cool1: I will let you know when we get back how it was (will not be until Sunday). I have 2 DD's (ages 3 and 7) and they are SO excited! :goodvibes

I think everyone should eat in the Castle atleast once! Not necessarily for the princess meals... It's just one of those must-do things in WDW I think. :goodvibes I ate in it as a child, and finally ate there again in Feb. We ended up doing the princess breakfast. My boys weren't into the princesses, but they loved being in the Castle!! ::yes::

I agree, you should eat there at least once. The ambience in there is great, and I'm not into the princesses, either.

Is the Cinderella's Castle you're talking about the same as Cinderella's Royal Table? I only ask because of my own confusion on the matter....

My DH were there for our honeymoon in July '03. We had made no PS for anything, btw, and had absolutely no trouble getting seating anywhere we went. Did this have to do with the adorable white minnie ears headband and veil I wore everywhere? Or was it because there were only two of us? Maybe both!

Either way, I always assumed that the Crystal Palace was that gorgeous castle in the middle of MK. When I found out there was a restaurant inside the castle I absolutely insisted that DH and I eat there (he is so tolerant of my gushing over cuteness and romance :love2: ) Turns out that restaurant is called Cinderella's Royal Table. I still have no idea what or where the Crystal Palace is! You can bet we'll be finding that place when we go with the kids in October!

Both my DH and I absolutely loved Cinderella's Royal Table! We were seated almost immediately upon wandering up to the front desk at lunchtime. We were seated at the table of honor, at the front and center window, our table decorated with Mickey confetti and streamers! We got free glass mugs, as well as free crystal wine glasses for our honeymoon. Not to mention the royal treatment. My DH especially loved the Huge amount of red meat he got in his meal (he loves his red meat -- I don't eat it at all lol). I know he felt like a king! The desserts were marvelous. And the characters running past our window every few minutes added to the magic. Yes, I would definitely call that the most magical moment of our WDW experience.

I think the place is wonderful for couples, but the little girl in me was in heaven!

CRT dinner was one the highlights of our trip this May aswell. DD4 spent at least 15 min of 1:1 with Cindy in the lobby of the castle while we waited for our family to be called to dine. The only ones in the lobby of the castle were our family 2 couples and a family with all boys, when Cindy walked in we were in complete surprise, DD4 danced played with Cindy, Cinderella called my daughter princess, thank goodness I was quick to whip that camcorder out------it was magical standing back watching DD4 twirling and kertseying (SP.) with Cinderella.

The food was fantastic, Dessert was unbelievable, we had the Cindercelebration Slipper!

Good Luck with your planning, CRT is a great selection on the MYW dining, we were glad we had the plan, our bill for 2 meals, 2 appet., 2 desserts was 128.00. I shared a meal with DD4 there is noway she could eat as much as the plan provides, and we still had leftovers from our meal. She did get her own dessert because DH was TOO FULL, so she had one of the Slipper Desserts.

There are only windows along one section of wall, but they are tall windows so it really helps the dining room feel light and airy. We had a window seat our first time and it is really nice, but you can only see a limited portion of Fantasyland (back of the castle). We've eaten lunch there twice, and it was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. But with the advent of the princesses we'll be eating elsewhere this year.

so she had one of the Slipper Desserts.

Does that mean you can get the slipper with the dining plan?? Is it special on the menu, do you have to order it ahead of time???

We were going to do the GF buffet but I am going to change it so that we can do this dinner instead!!
