Eating Healthy with QSDP?

I just booked my first trip to Disney and got the free Quick service dining plan included. I was reluctant to book it because I am a health food fanatic. Is it possible to eat very healthy with the QSDP?

I wouldn't say VERY healthy, but there are definitely options available at most CS locations that are more health conscious than some. Disney does a good job at offering things other than burgers and fries.

It does take a little planning, but it is possible. Salads and sandwiches are available, as well as veggie burgers and turkey burgers. Snacks are easy, as fruit and frozen fruit bars are available in the parks. Look at menus online. My kids (teens and older) don't eat much junk and they love the qsmp.

In MK, Columbia Harbor House has a delicious veggie and hummus sandwich on multigrain bread. Most places have a salad option. If you plan ahead and read the menus, it can be be done.

CHH in MK
Tangerine and Sunshine Seasons in Epcot
Wolfgang Puck express in DTD!

I loved that sandwich. I felt so healthy afterward!

As PP mentioned, check out allears for menu. Just abou everywhere has a salad. I have always been able to get fat free dressing as well. Sunshine Seasons at Epcot has a nice salmon meal. Wolfgang Puck has amazing salads. It is definitely possible. We had fruit cup as a dessert at a lot of places. Not all of them let you do it but everywhere we asked allowed it.

Thank you. Specific names of places to go definitely helps.
What is CHH?

CHH is Columbia Harbour House in the MK (Magic Kingdom)

Sunshine Seasons is in the Land Pavillion in Epcot.

Wolfgang Puck is in Downtown Disney.

I second all these choices with healthier alternatives, not to mention Sunshine Season is very fresh, and even gets some of its produce right there in the building from the Living with the Land ride. :thumbsup2

Also, even at places with sandwiches I have always been able to sub grapes for fries (they have prepackaged grapes on hand for kids meals, as well as veggies-you might even be able to sub those as well!) and sub them for desserts if you are watching calories. You can also use your snack credits for bottled waters, fruit or popcorn instead of the usual ice cream or baked goods.

I think Disney does a pretty good job of offering more healthy options, sometimes you have a little hunting to find them, but they are definitely most better than most amusement parks!
