Eating Healthy while at WDW

One of the things I cannot stand is low cal dressing so here is what I do. I get the dressing I like as a side and dip my fork ends in the dressing then spear some salad, that way I get the taste without eating very much dressing

You know, that has never done anything for me. I have a different tactic. I put a very small amount of salad dressing on my salad and then mix and mix and mix. You get a small but satisfying amount of dressing on each morsel.

I agree. I hate low cal dressing. The more low cal...the worse the dressing.

It's true, you will be walking a lot so you need some calories for that! And try to incorporate swimming too. Here are some of my tips for eating healthy and enjoying the yummy food:

Breakfast - Have a piece of fruit and some good protein. Fuel up for the day, this is the time!
Snack (I eat snacks at 10am and 3pm) - fresh fruit at a snack stand and some nuts (I bring nuts and dried fruits with me)
Counter Service - 1 person gets fries and the other gets carrots/veggies - split the fries and veggies. Go for salads (dressing on the side), or broth/tomato soup if you can.
Table service - Soup + appetizer & limit your bread intake.

You know the drill if you have lost 6 stone already so just remember that. BUT don't deprive yourself either. You are on vacation and enjoy it. Just make sure you aren't splurging at every meal and every snack.

Good luck!

HANG IN THERE.. You can do it. I lost almost a 100 lbs about 2 years ago and LOVE how I feel.

There is a big difference in eating healthy and just reducing calories. Eating healthy includes cutting back on fats and salt and sugar. You can reduce calories just by eating smaller amounts of unhealthy foods.

As far as WDW, I would look for damage control. It is VERY hard to keep things under control while on vacation. A couple hints:

-do not do the dinning plan...you want to get you money's worth..not good.
-avoid buffets. might be some healthy options but too much temptaion for an overeater.
-Share meals. DH can get more food if he needs it later.
-Drink no calories except skim milk. no regular soda or juice or adult drinks
-If you REALLY want it. Order it and divide it in half. Eat half and really think if you want the other half. If going back to your room, have them put half in a to go box before you even star to eat. I did this for a while everywhere we ate!!!

Really, you will be fine. Work really hard before you go and get back on it as soon as you get back home and just try to hold steady for the trip.

I actually find it kind of hard to eat healthy in WDW. Not because I'm tempted or anything, but because I don't think they offer that many things I'm willing to eat. There have definitely been a few times times where I went to sleep completely starving. But then again, I refuse to eat a lot of things! I'm slightly concerned about what I'll eat next week, but I'm going to bring some cereal with me.

This has always been a HUGE obstacle for me. There are two kinds of veggies in my book, the ones I don't want on my plate, and the ones I don't want in the same room with me. I'm trying to eat some of the ones I don't want on my plate.
