Are you allowed to eat/drink on the buses? I'm planning on showering and bolting out the door with a bagel in my hand each morning to try to get to EMH at the parks. Can I eat the bagel and drink a bottle of water on the bus? Or should I carry it in a bag and then eat while waiting in line to get into the park?

I know, VERY important question... details, details!

:)

I bolt out the door with a coffee every morning. Disney will be no different. I'd like the answer to this as well. :goodvibes

"Officially" there is no eating or drinking allowed on Disney buses. The main reason I believe is so people don't leave the buses a real mess. The buses run all day from early until late and if someone spills something it might cause the driver to take it out of service. Another reason is insects. If any kind of food is dropped on the floor it can certainly attracts bugs.
If you have water or a drink in an enclosed container/bottle I don't think the driver would mind. If you take an open cup of coffee or any drink he/she can tell you to dispose of it before boarding the bus. I honestly don't recall anyone ever eating anything on the many bus rides I have taken at WDW. The rides are so short that most people don't need to take food on the buses with them.
Bottom line is that you are not supposed to eat/drink on Disney transportation. The driver can deny you boarding. If anyone must eat/drink on the way to a theme park the best plan is to finish it at the bus stop.

Tyler posted on this a while back and the official response is no.. they are trying to keep mess and bugs off of the bus.

Personally, I think you'll have enough time to eat your bagel and drink your water/coffee waiting for the bus! In any event, we have never been denied access on a bus with our covered cup of coffee. The same goes for bottled water.

That's pretty much what I figured, but it's nice to be able to confirm it. Thanks guys!

Just a thought...
I didn't know at the time that beverages were not allowed, though I really should have known better. I was able to get on the bus with a slushy drink purchased on our way out of AK. On the way back to the resort, a car cut off the bus and the bus driver had no choice but to make a very sudden stop. I was standing, as the bus was full. On reflex only, I held out my cup to my niece, who was seated; she grabbed it before I completed my fall to the floor. If she hadn't grabbed the cup, that relatively-full drink would have been all over me and everyone near me. I'm not judging anyone else's actions, but speaking just for me, I will never take a beverage on the bus again unless it is in a screw-top container.

I have seen someone quietly sitting in their seat on the bus eating a pop tart. Once the bus is moving, I don't see how the driver would know anyone in the back was eating something as long as they weren't being flagrant about it.

They announce no eating and drinking on the bus. Usually I have a diet coke with me anyway, but it's in a bottle with the top screwed on. I drink it before I get on the bus and after I get where I'm going.
